You're surprised by this? Cusack's best friend is Tim Robbins, he likes hanging out with the Berrigan brothers - when they're not in prison, that is - and once accused the Reagan administration of tapping his phones. Ol' Johnny is a seriously hard-left crackpot, has been for years.

Well, I wish I would have read this thread before throwing my hard earned money away on this maggot infested piece of trash. Let me tell you that not only was the agenda painful to watch unfold, but the errors in plot and dialogue, along with the atrocious acting of Dustin Hoffman was excruciating. Avoid this garbage at all costs. It is clear that the Second Amendment is a joke to these morons in Hollywood. They even were so bold to say in this film that the Second Amendment is the law "while it lasts". Make no mistake, Hollywood would shred The Constitution if they could make a buck off of it.

Thanks for the heads-up.
I will not be seeing this garbage.

Frankly, I'm a little surprised Gene Hackman would be a part of this kind of political smut.

It's been at least 10 years since I've paid admission to a movie. Don't plan to waste time or money on this one either. Hollywood pukes hold no interest for me.

Correct. Grisham was a Dem legislator in Mississippi prior to becoming a writer.

I am ashamed to say I spent $17.00 to see this tonight (with the better half) without checking into it first. Mrs. Max realized this would be bad when the propaganda started flowing right off the bat. This thing will, I fear, plant the seeds for the uninformed who will end up on juries and give away our inalienable rights. It was obvious from the beginning that the "bad guys" (gun manufacturers) would have to lose or "justice" just wouldn't be served. Of course, the illegal tampering was all done by the gun rights side, while the good and noble socialist lawyer turns down a money for verdict deal. What tripe. Spread the word..avoid this movie like the plague!

And on another note, I saw a report on Fox News last night about Hollywood and the apparent lack of any Terror-War themed movies.

Seems there are NO plans in Tinsletown to produce ANY movies about the sacrifices and valorous work our troops are making in this worldwide conflict. As one director put it, "They regard Bush and John Ashcroft as more of a threat than Osama bin Laden". They don't want to produce ANYTHING that might show the President and the military in a positive light, and they consider this "Bush's war", and not theirs.

When you compare that to the movies made about WWII, and the number of stars who actually enlisted during that conflict and served honorably, it makes one physically sick...especially considering the fact that this war started with an unprovoked attack upon unarmed American civilians.

No wonder the only movies the American people seem to have any affection and warmth for at all right now are the "Lord Of The Rings" movies, which have studiously avoided anything political in their presentation.

we just watched Shawshank again tonite for the umpteenth (sp?) time.....

yes..it had that Robbins fellow, but since I never went to the movies to see it, I feel watching it on TV didn't get him much money.....

then we watched "Rudy", and Hoosiers can't be far behind...

I would never have known from the ads on TV, but the WSJ tells me that this movie is about evil Gun Manufacturers trying to subvert our judicial system. Fortunately, Liberal defense attorney Dustin Hoffman may be able to save the day and advance the cause of Gun Control.

Actually it comes off making everyone look equally bad. Everyone cheats, everyone schemes... and basically, it made the point that people only vote liberal when they listen to their heart instead of rational thought.

It wasn't too bad...

doesn't really matter if you own it already...they got your $$. Unless you can't stomach seeing cusack. I feel that way about him, robbins, Sheen in particualr. I can't watch them at all, same with Sarandon and Madonna.

Remember Seargeant Rock and Easy Company, or The Unknown Soldier, both from DC comics? They used to wave the flag pretty high.

I can fully understand them having concerns about a war .. everyone should question a war

BUT this is not Bush's war .. this is America's War against those that want to kill us.

Tinsletown may choose to side with not fighting back on terrorist and those that support terrorist

I will choose the side of American's ..

On a related note, it looks like Mystic River (Ink Penn & Mr. Sarandon) is sucking serious wind. Box Office Mojo has them at just over $2 million dollars for the first week.

The Mystic River mistake is all those close-ups of Penn in the movie trailers. I was gagging last night when I saw him in the previews. Looks like he is well on his way to be the next big geezer. He will take willie nelson and keith richards place in a few years. He looks OLD.

Just a warning....don't waste your time and money on Lost in Translation. I was never so bored in my life. Is someone paying off critics?
