A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PRESIDENT BUSH (photos): 10/17/03

President Bush and First Lady, Laura left California yesterday, and arrived at Tokyo’s Haneda airport (at around 3:00 am, Pacific time), where they were greeted by U.S. Ambassador Howard Baker. The President met with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi for talks on subjects such as international trade and the reconstruction of Iraq. The President and First Lady were dinner guests at the Akasaka State Guest House, where they dined on Japanese steak and Yakatori chicken, sitting on the floor, but were allowed to dangle their legs through a hole in the floor!

Japan is only the first stop in a whirlwind 9 day tour of 6 Asian countries and Australia, and including the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday. There are LOTS of pictures, many of which could have been selected as the “best,” (and which I have tried to assemble in some sort of orderly fashion), so enjoy your Daily Dose of Dubya!!

How can we write to him and the other service-men? I pray for our soldiers every day.

There's a daily thread on FR called The Canteen. On the first page of that thread are links directing you to do just that. KNOW that those letters are deeply appreciated!! I thank you for offering.

. . . What a wonderful thread tonight complete with stunning photos of our loving/loveable First Couple; great conversation about our First Couple's AUTHENTIC marital relationship (Ohio, as usual you're channeling my thoughts precisely!); and insightful comments concerning several treasonous AND gluttonous senators (i.e., Ted Kennedy)!

[FYI: I heard Sean's exchange with Ted "the Swimmer" Kennedy -- it was CLASSIC! I'm sure we'll hear it replayed repeatedly over the next year AND rightly so. Hearing the very LARGE audience (Sean was broadcasting live from SMU in Dallas, TX) boo Kennedy repeatedly -- particularly when he arrogantly boasted that NOBODY interupts him when he talks -- made the moment even more sweet!]

He was a sick boring bore, wasn't he? Couldn't even stay on long enough for a good dialogue.

Chicken Ted.

Yes, indeed, Deb........you and I share the same mind.......especially when it comes to that delectable 'marital relationship' stuff! ;o) Hard to miss with these two, doncha think?

And about Hannity....... the best thing about the show was the huge roar of 'boos' coming from the audience when the swimmer talked.

It was music to my ears!

And now, speaking of marriages.....I must head to bed......but I'll ping everyone again when I get the rest of the pictures from tomorrow..... Good night, all!

I just got home from viewing an absolutely wonderful movie entitled, "Secondhand Lions."

This charming, witty, sentimental, heartwrenching, uplifting tour de force stars Haley Joel Osment, Robert Duvall and Michael Caine. . . . AN ABSOLUTE MUST SEE!!!

I'm guessing that Secret Service agent in the penultimate photo was selected for this detail, at least in part, by his ability to intimidate by just being there.

"The black gentleman behind POTUS is not a Secret Service agent, although he would never tell you that. He, and the other man standing at the other side of the steps, are Air Force personnel assigned to the Air Force One advance. The USSS goes with the President; these guys stay back to guard the plane. They look like agents but are not."

. . . thanks for the insights! Are you a former Secret Service agent? If so, are there any other tidbits you could share with us?

Oh the President and the Prime minister look so cute together! They are both just having such fun, it makes me smile! How could anyone say such mean things about W? He treats everyone so nicely, even those he should just haul off and poke right in their WC Fields noses!

Thanks for such great pictures tonight, and give our love to Eric!

"He's a good friend. A very strong leader. And the relationship between Japan and the United States is very good," Bush said.

G. Dubyuh sure looks tall in that picture...apparently, the Japanese haven't yet gotten the word that America has become a pariah nation...MUD

I'm fine! Looks like our Logan's going to be released from the hospital soon, so I'm going to have more "regular" Freeping time on two of my FAVORITE threads!!
