[history]
The mobs howled again in California, rattling windows on the Potomac.
Are the barbarians marching eastward, as they did after the famous tax revolt of the late 1970s, or is this just another West Coast full-moon episode with little national consequence?

The left is delusional.

Arnold Schwarzenegger (is ....) an extraordinary lightning rod, both in his movie persona and in real life, for dark, sexualized fantasies about omnipotence. Projection, by a very confused writer.

Wow. Talk about a mental breakdown.
Its fun watching the left flailing around knowing full well that they are losing their power.

So we're back to the "right-wing power grab" theory? I thought it was a rejection of incumbents and Bush was supposed to be quaking in his boots.....

Yeah. In fact, I was listening to the show where they claim started it all. Melanie Morgan, Brian Sussman, and Officer Vic along with Shawn Steel (I think) claim to be the ones that started it all (Melanie Morgan making a little suggestion and Shawn Steel looking to see if it is possible). Whether or not this is the "official" start of the recall, I don't know. But they say they are the ones behind it.
And of course, the media would like you to believe it was Darell Issa who started it, which he didn't (he just funded it).
Either way, its those "EVIL RIGHT WING-NUTS" that started it. Too bad 30% or so Democrats voted it it, but still, it was those "EVIL RIGHT WING-NUTS" that started it all. Hahahahahahhahah

Arnold Schwarzenegger's triumph of the willDid people catch the reference to Triumph of the Will, Leni Riefenstahl's adulatory documentary about Adolph Hitler?
So for this author, Arnold is nothing but another Nazi demagogue. I thought it was those eee-vil Republicans who resorted to negative, personal attacks?!

"Mike Davis, Communist"
Typo, Freudian slip, or true?

... Fiscal crisis should be an issue owned by the Democrats ...
Indeed. Because they create them. State spending rose 40% under Davis.

The dems are just mad that the GOP made recall work first. If the dems successfully removed a sitting republican governor do you for an instant think the same story would be printed?
It really must be hard to be a democrat lately. The party is falling apart and the leadership is totally ignoring the majority of it's own party. No wonder Howard Dean is getting the support he is. The rest are still having a nervous breakdown over the losses in 1994 and 2000.

Wonder how the author accounts for all the Dems that signed the petitions and voted for the recall.

The larger meaning of Arnold Schwarzenegger's triumph of the will, of course Oh, such a brilliant allusion to Hitler! What a smarmy leftist twerp is this "writer."
To: Oldeconomybuyer
Only a complete idiot would dare say that 75% of the people are wrong, but since he holds the only viewpoint that can be correct, I suppose everyone else in the state are the idiots eh, Mike?
It's scary the level of hate and rage they have.... it almost matches the hate and rage I feel againt their leftist policies. I so wish the socialists would go find their own island somewhere and leave us alone.

"...Wonder how the author accounts for all the Dems that signed the petitions and voted for the recall."I can personally attest to this. I got ahold of some petitions and went to a Shopping Center with a small "Recall Davis" sign.
About half the people who signed up mentioned that they normally vote Democrat but they were lied to by Davis and had "had it" with the jerk!
I had 50 people signed up in less than 2 hours.....and this was in "liberal San Francisco"!

Gray Davis, in a word, was the Antichrist, wrecking California's golden dream on behalf of his selfish constituencies of school teachers, illegal immigrants, and rich Indians. I would say this is a pretty good accessment of the reason, wouldn't you? Of course he writes the truth off as a lie and never get into how $8 billion of Californias $32 billion dollar debt is due to the support of services for illegals, not to mention what they cost local hospitals, and is only a billion or so less than what illegals send home to Mexico and is that nations second largest source of income. But noooooo, the real problem is right wing radio. Something must be done, just nothing useful.

This is only the foreshock, IMO.
Wait until the bigger political earthquake hits the whole country. I predict more and more states and governors in gridlock will start to expose where the waste is that has to be expunged. I feel a momemtum that the Dems and the union cannot reverse.
