Well, I've got a Health Care Directive (a.k.a. "living will") and a Health Care Power of Attorney. I'd hate for my state to suddenly decide that it knew my desires better than me. If I were in Terri's position, I'd hope my spouse would execute my wishes and pull the plug.

There isn't really a plug to pull. She was just on a feeding tube. Now she's starving to death even though she is awake, alert, and not recieving any pain meds. (her parents were worried that they were giving her too much morphine because she wasn't responding the day after the starvation started so the husband stopped all pain meds whatsoever)

Non-sequitur. Terri Schiavo has no such Directive or living will. All there is is the word of her hateful husband who stands to inherit a large chunk of the settlement given to Terri for her rehab. and medical care.

Jeez, here we go again. Someone came in at half time and doesn't even know who's playing. Not making light of Terri's plight but come on, at this late day ignorance of the situation is no excuse. Bottom line is Terri left no written instructions so that's moot. Loving hubby whined in a malpractice suite that he would use any money awarded to help in her rehab even though he refused any and all treatment from day one through to today. Two weeks after being awarded the boat load settlement he suddenly remembered she'd told him, but not her family, she didn't want to be hooked up to machines and so began his campaign to end her life.
