Ok, show of hands: how many of you know what the food pyramid is and how many servings of each are allowed per day? Those of you who have "studied" this in school"? Those of you who have decided to eat according to your own food pyramid?

Still can't figure out why you should eat more grains than vegetables. I'd hate to think it was for the wheat farmers. OK, so they didn't get into unsaturated v. saturated fats, or whole grains v. refined grains, and all protein got lumped together. It was just a guide, or an outline, not a menu. But why eat more starches than vegetables? Was it for the energy that people used working and exercising? It there such a thing, medically, as too many vegetables?
