"Democrats need to win this election," Ford told the group of college students and faculty. No matter what! Truth and facts are of no moment when democrats are trying to get the vote - they will do anything, say anything - even accuse the President for their crimes and short comings.........

The accused is a liberal black man. Thus he is innocent and all those who think otherwise are racists. Now if the accused were a conservative black man...well he woundn't really be "black"--and being a conservative he would obviously be guilty.

What part of "criminal" behovior is racist?
Has this country become so PC that the FBI can't investigate alleged criminal behavior if the suspect is black - or they are branded as racist?
To: yoe
This race is over. Done. Finito. Street will ride the "they's just beatin' up on a po' black man" line right back into the Mayor's office. Bank on it.

"I give John Street great credit, because he didn't take the George Bush out," Ford stated to the AP, never explaining exactly what he meant by that statement. Anybody have any ideas what Ford meant by that?

"I am a black man in America doing what I think needs to be done, and people resent that," White expressed to the Associated Press. No jerko**, people resent idiots like you hiding behind your color and expecting a free pass to break the law and spread corruption in our system of government...

Street knew the election was too close for comfort, that's why he made a big stink about discovering the bug.
What I wonder is, who tipped him off about the bug?

Is it even possible to investigate an African / American without being slammed as racist? Street appears to be a crook and it matters not what color he is! The city has been corrupt for generations; it's about time someone did something about it!

Is it even possible to investigate an African / American without being slammed as racist?Nope and don't you dare question their question their quarterbacking skills or treatment by the media either.

"Democrats need to win this election," Ford told the group of college students and faculty.I think the Rats should hope he loses. He is getting short term sympathy in time for his own election. But what will be the perception by the time the Presidential election comes around?

Now if the accused were a conservative black man...well he woundn't really be "black"--and being a conservative he would obviously be guilty. The Mayor isn't all that liberal. I don't think what's going on is particularly racist, but I do think it's political. Sam Katz, who is running against Street, would not care if the incumbent happened to be white, black, or green. He would go after winning Philadelphia. He's been trying for several elections already.
What's going on is that the Republicans just haven't got a good candidate for themselves, at least in the mayor's race. Street is no angel, but Katz leaves a whole lot to be desired.
I do think this mess is motivated by the hope of getting Pennsylvania to go Republican in 2004. Some of the western parts of Pennsylvania are strong Republican, and if they can get Philly they will have a read advantage.
It's just too bad the Republicans can't find a better candidate.

"I give John Street great credit, because he didn't take the George Bush out," Ford stated to the AP, never explaining exactly what he meant by that statement. Ford admitted that electing a Republican as the mayor of Philadelphia will likely swing the state of Pennsylvania to Bush and the Republicans in 2004.
Well this will explain the BS I have read on some of the Philly boards
I agree Dog .. Street and the Dems are playing a very dangerous game here and I would not be surprised if we hear about riots in Philly

Is it even possible to investigate an African / American without being slammed as racist? Only if they are conservative.

The last refuge of a (crooked black Democrat) scoundrel.
"It's racism!"
How utterly pathetic.
To: TheBigB
You got that right. This will kill Katz's chances. End of story.

The Mayor isn't all that liberal.
Please explain your hypothesis.
