I seem to remember the troops finding some chemical-ready warheads during the heavy action, too.
The extension of your comments bore no revelevance to the point being made... That some critical decisions on the part of our leaders are expected and demanded in situations where information may be tenous. Reflective hindsight is great if one is privy to precongnition. But when clarified facts are used by critics to subvert previous decisions, future judgment is compromised. When the facts are replaced with lies, the process of judgment as guide for action is replaced with uncertainty and futility. This is a recipe for disaster. We tried that sort of leadership before and we got three planes in the mouth for it. Its not that we do not tolerate introspection of this Whitehouse's decision-making process. But we are not so filled with disgust, distrust, scorn and hate for this President and this nation that we are willing to forgo our own judgment on the basis of the Left's irrational rage and subsequent lies. To do so would be to forfiet our security in a time of crisis. What seems to be lacking from the critics is an understanding that if they had any credibility, their suspicions might warrant some consideration. They don't in either respect.
We simply do not share your level of distrust in a Man (this President) who has proven himself as a tremendous leader time and time again. Nor do we share the hatred for this nation that has been evolving on the Left for the last 30 years. His critics have been at work since before he came into office. What credibility do they have left?
I have explained my postion for you. I have 'cogitated' what little of yours is relevant, Now, I suggest that you 'brook' some sincere contemplation of your own opinions.
Even when he checked the facts, he won't admit he was wrong.
No wonder he is so bitter!
Job? I'd call their freedom an added benefit of a necessary ME intervention. If you read the article you may have picked up that the author, not once spoke of the Iraqi people. He spouts the typical Me, Me, My, My obcession. I was pointing that out. Some outright lies are contained within it too such as: "Only now are we realizing that Saddam not only posed no "imminent threat" to us, he posed no threat at all." and :" Bush has admitted that Hussein was not directly involved in the attacks." So frankly IMO this author lost all credibility with this clap-trap.
Comparing Iraq and North Korea in military standards is like comparing apples to elephants. The NK army has millions of trained soldiers. Not the case in Iraq. NK has nukes. Possibly not the case in Iraq although the jury is still out. Every situation in the world cannot be painted using the same paintbrush. To try to do so would be dangerous and foolish. I happen to believe that we are in an intricate dance with the North Koreans. One that very likely may lead to military action, and you can't know how hard I hope I'm wrong. But considering the differences that I've mentioned, calm and measured steps are necessary with NK at this point in time. Which of course were also taken with Saddam over the years during various dances with him. It's my fervent hope that should efforts with the NK require stepping up from dancing, we will reap the additional benefit in the case of the NK people as well.
Finally let me add that we mustn't let the wide-spread presence of human suffering throughout the world paralyze us into taking no action whatsoever against it. Christ said to his diciples that they would always have the poor but wouldn't always have Him. There will probably always be down-trodden and oppressed peoples in the world. That shouldn't prevent us from alleviating that where possible especially when it coincides with our own foreign policy interests. Prairie
I'm on a weight loss program and have frequently felt the pangs, no, make that pains of hunger. *Shrug*, just a fact and comes with the territory, but I've gone to bed hungry now for several days. It is humbling, in the very least because many of the planets children do this most nights. But I just realized where the difference is. They are growing, or at least trying to. Their bodies caloric intake beyond their life and activity sustaining requirments. Their pain must be at least double what I am feeling. Saddam withheld food from his people as punishment and to re-sell for profit as was quickly discovered by our troops and the fully stocked, yet undistributed warehouse inventories showed.
FWIW.

LOL! Tom "Mr. Eleanor Clift" Brazaitis has a hissy fit because ordinary Americans can access LexisNexis on the Net!
How dare the unwashed bypass the Mighty Information Gatekeepers! :-)
Sounds likely.Though it could be an immanent imminent emanating figment of the imagination of the Bush-bashers.
They are masters of malevolent manipulation.
LOL, the left deserves every jab and double edged sword attack they get...and then some!
Thanks for the clarification. Some day AlBore will invent an internet that allows for correct interpretation of inflection and emphasis to the written word.
