Also, from #37: The regular posters here on FR who are Muslims, Christians, Jews, atheists, Buddhists, etc. (that I know of) do not seem to dwell on this subject either, Dajjal -- just so you get the BIG picture.

I'm trying to get a handle on the dispute here, as I've found the links provided by both of you on a number of threads to have been quite helpful.
Cindy, I've been mining the Imam al Mahdi vein for a little over two years on FR. I think an understanding of Islamic eschatology is as important now as an understanding of Mein Kampf was before and during WWII. Doesn't mean I believe in or follow the precepts of either, just that it's important to know one's enemy.
What's the beef here?

No beef. Just mutual commenting about the lack of interest in Muslim Eschatology even amongst many paying close attention to the more practical political / economic / cultural aspects of Islamicist Terrorism. I read Cindy as advising me to "get used to it" even with generally well-informed FReepers.

I've mentioned elsewhere how the prophecy in the hadith that one of the Signs of Qiyama is that "the Sun will rise in the West" and how the imams are claiming this is now being fulfilled because of the growing population of Muslims in Europe & the US and the numbers of converts they've made.

I just saw in a book catalog (IslamicMedia.com) that there is a 1999 book of that title:
