DETROIT -- Five men rescued a group of women and teen-age girls from a pipe-wielding attacker Wednesday, but they went too far when they killed the 22-year-old man, police said.
"The men apparently stopped the attack on the women. However, they went too far after they caught him," said Homicide Lt. Bill Petersen. "We are currently looking for these men."

When innocent people were being assaulted, the police were nowhere to be found.
After somebody intervened to stop the assault, the police department stepped forward to rein in the terrorists who stopped the crime.
Is it just me, or does anyone else see something wrong with this picture?

Sounds like the scum bag go what he deserved. One more piece of $hit we won't have to clothe, feed and house in our prisons. Yeah we need to find them alright, so we can give them a medal.

I don't normally approve of "vigilante" tactics. It would have been much better had these women been armed themselves and shot their attacker on their own.
I cannot disapprove of the end result though. The cops should backoff on this one.

Investigators said Donaldson had a minor police record...And now has no chance to expand on that record. Good.

They were wrong. Brutal, unprovoked attack or not, those fellows don't have the authority to execute the perp on the spot. There is a potential slippery slope there...
But I hope they are never caught, and I would never return a guilty verdict. Good for the girls who can't seem to give a description of the men or their vehicle...

We are going to see more and more vigilantism as the police focus more and more time on collecting taxes (tickets and WOsD asset forfeiture) for the government than solving and preventing actual crime. People have the right to protect themselves and the police ain't doing it anymore

Gosh. It's getting so it isn't safe to attack teenaged girls with a pipe anymore!

Just more proof that police have gone from peace officers to law ENFORCEMENT officers and the enemy of society.

heres my spin: A passing car with 5 HEROES in it saw the attack. Two of these GREAT AMERICAN Men jumped out and chased the Worthless Cowardly POS on foot while the other Men followed in the car.
Good job guys! Stale Donuts to the cops.

They were wrong. They were in violation of the law. They were not wrong.

It's possible that they were members of a rival gang and saw an opportunity to get rid of someone.
I don't think they should have killed the guy, but I won't lose sleep over it. Less tax dollars wasted.

This case will stay high-profile for a short while, and then they will back-burner this one very quickly.
Wanna bet the cops would rather spend time rescuing cats from trees and finding lost puppies?

They were in violation of the law. They were not wrong.Perfect summation.

I recently talked with our local DA here in SE Gerogia. He said that the jails are so full and the police so undermanned that they are going to have to pick & choose what criminals they go after. Not only that, unless we start releasing non violent criminals such as drug offenders loose we're not going to be able to put them in jail anyway.

"Then, police said, one of the men shot Donaldson in the chest. Witnesses said they heard a gunshot and the men jumped back into the car and sped off." Maybe, maybe not. Where are the eye-witnesses. Misleading headline: "Vigilantes shoot man to death." It's possible that the perp pulled a gun and accidentally shot himself during the struggle and the gun was taken by the rescuers.
