Michael Schiavo would face a serious financial burden if Terri survives.

Yes, and he may have an inheritance from his parents' deaths. Even if he were to divorce Terry, a court would look at that and possibly order him to pay for her maintenance. My opinion is that is the real reason he wants out and sees her death as the only way out.

Plus any future earnings of MS, from any source, including whatever he does to capitalize on this case, book/movie rights, etc. Half would be Terri's.
