Muslim leader with D.C. ties indicted
MSNBC ^ | October 24, 2003 | Lisa Myers and the NBC Investigative Team

Posted on 10/24/2003 9:17:07 PM PDT by tomball

....... " Abdurahman Alamoudi, a consultant to the Pentagon on the chaplain program for more than a decade, is now accused of helping Osama bin Laden and Hamas.  Court documents filed late Wednesday night claim Alamoudi has provided “financial support to Hamas” and “financial support to fronts for al-Qaida.”   One of the groups allegedly tied to Alamoudi is a charity that gave a Virginia post office as its address. Alamoudi was the charity’s vice president. Who founded it? Abdullah bin Laden, Osama bin Laden’s nephew.

Also ringing alarms: Alamoudi’s Palm Pilot, which the government claims included the names and numbers of six designated global terrorists.  Terrorism expert and NBC News analyst Steve Emerson said, “The public face of Mr. Alamoudi was 180 degrees different from the private face. And the private face clearly showed that he was involved or directed fund-raising for Hamas, fund-raising for other terrorist groups.”

The government also alleges Alamoudi had a Swiss bank account and $2.2 million in unreported income, on which he failed to pay taxes.  Thursday, Alamoudi’s lawyer said he never supported any terrorist group and that Osama bin Laden has dozens of nephews who have nothing to do with al-Qaida.  Yet, in an audiotape of a conversation obtained by NBC News, Alamoudi seems to embrace violence and suggests al-Qaida should choose better targets: (Translated) “I prefer to hit a Zionist target in America or Europe or elsewhere.”   Alamoudi’s lawyer said her client doesn’t remember saying such a thing and questioned the tape’s authenticity.

FAMILIAR FACE IN WASHINGTON

Over the years, Alamoudi has been a familiar face in Washington.
* The Pentagon chose him to help select Muslim chaplains.
* He met with President Clinton.
* Made six trips to Muslim nations as a goodwill ambassador for the State Department.
* Met with presidential candidate George W. Bush.
* Last year, FBI Director Robert Mueller even spoke to an organization founded by Alamoudi, over the objections of some agents. " ......

Anybody know whether he's met with Grover Norquist?

Are you serious about this question?
Of course he has.
He's done business with Grover Norquist.
There have been many FR threads on this.

Here's a link.

btw.
If you listened to Batchelor and Alexander tonight
you heard them discuss Norquist.
Apparently he still is on the White House payroll.

Simply amazing how many terrorists and terrorist supporters have positions in our federal, state, local government and in our military. We need to do some very serious house cleaning and it needs to start yesterday!

The KSA Sharia council condemned it, and it don't get any better than that for muslims. I agree they haven't been loud enough and fervent enough in their condemnation for our tastes. Arab culture dictates subtlety and extreme care in criticism, so you would never see the overt noise from them that you'd see from our leadership. Add that to the fact that arab leaders typically live in arab countries that have thousands sympathetic to anti-americanism--some as neighbors or even family, and a level of timidity is expected. (most of thier leaders would prefer to live a bit longer)

As far as Arafat's statements, he's correct. There is a religious (fundamentalist) componant to terrorism (al queda and related orgs) and a larger componant driven by political issues, like Israel/Palestine. If a Palestinian goes onto an Israli area and kills people he's a terrorist, but just put a uniform on an Israeli and when he's in a Palestinian area killing people he's not equavalent? Nonsense. Some of Israel's military actions are exact moral equivalents to the actions of the palestinian. The Israeli's don't have the moral high ground--they don't even control their own fundametalist problem very well. Who condemned the Israli citizen who went into a mosque in Jerusalem a few years ago and sprayed the congregation with an uzi? Who condemns the fact that Israeli's visit his gravesite every year on the anniverary of the act and laud his 'achievement'. (You won't see that acted out every year in the American press, but the BBC and Arab stations cover it.)

Treating this issue (terrorism/al-queda) as an 'islamic' problem is simplistic and ignorant.

Two things to consider. There is no injunction in Islam concerning lying to Infidels, they're not really people so it doesn't really count. Secondly, I have seen no Poland China or Berkshires doing lazy eights in the sky over my back yard. If, or when, that happens I'll be glad to revise my opinions concerning Islam immediatly. Until then I maintain that Islam is the antithesis of peace and cannot survive in a free society.

And GEORGE TENET ..... ROBERT MUELLER .... ??? Either these people OR the inculcated old Klintoon bureaucrats in these agencies HAVE to be investigated NOW!!! Dear God .. that this monster could have reasonably escaped scrutiny is just beyond ridiculous. OUR PRESIDENT goes to speak before this monster's front operation??? There's also a story about Karl Rove and Grover Norquist connected to this guy ...apparently Norquist is Rove's best friend. What the *(&##**% is GOING ON HERE????? Is anybody awake and actually doing their job???? This is just sickening .. someone's GOT TO BE held accountable .. finally!! These agencies have got to be purged.

You need to study this religion before you make such false statements about islam. That is I am assuming that you are truely ignorant of what islam calls on its members to do and not a member of that same religion bent on misleading non-muslims about islam (which a muslim is allowed to do with non-muslims to entice into said religion). Islam is pure evil, period. Terrorism has not been repudiated by islamic scholars, because it is a major tenet of islam.

Summary of Batchelor Alexander interview tonight
with Craig Ungar
author of "House of Bush, House of Saud"

Salem bin Laden (older brother of Osama)
and Khalid bin Mafouz
(he and his son recently have been linked
with terrorist financing)
came over to Houston in 1974
to bail out Harkin Energy
when George W. Bush was director there.

Mafouz owned two banks
one of which was the legendary notorious bank
BCCI.
He indirectly helped out Harkin.
Several people from BCCI suddenly rushed to Harkin's aide
and some of them ended up with access to the White House in 1990.

Grover Norquist was responsible for the 'Moslem strategy' in 2000.
During the 2nd presidential debate
in Wake Forest North Carolina
out of the blue
George Bush made a statement condemning Moslem racial profiling.

In Florida Moslems voted for Bush by a factor of 20 to 1.

Norquist took credit for this in the American Spectator
after the election.

Batchelor and Alexander say they will talk to Craig Ungar frequently.

Tell us about Al-Faridah al-Gha'ibah and how it reflects the peaceful nature of Islam.

As to the timidity of the "moderate" Muslims that could be from the fact that if they do not support Jihad, they are in fact considered apostate and can be subject to death?

Treating this issue (terrorism/al-queda) as an 'islamic' problem is simplistic and ignorant.

Oh I see. So we "infidels" are simplistic and ignorant if we react with repulsion to the barbarism of the Islamists. Well, you are certainly welcome to your opinion. Just don't send any of your brethren to MY home uninvited. They will leav in bad shape, to be sure.

As to your attempts to "morally equivalize" Islamist terrorism in the West and in Israel, IMO you failed. Almost anyone in the West would agree that Islamic cllerics have not only been reticent in condemning Islamist terrorism, but quite the contrary, evidence abounds that many if not most Islamic Clerics have been aiding and abeting Islamist terrorism.

Dare I go through the list of recent transgressions? How about traitorous translators at Gitmo? Or the recent apprehension of the Cleric trying to smuggle $350K+ from Libya to Syria?

This while the Israeli's constantly fend off barbaric Islamist bombers of the innocents -- and don't preach your nonsense to me about Israel, I have friends there who live with the evil brought by your brethren daily.

You are aparently either a disruptor, a fool, a fanatic, or any combination of the above. Call me what you wish.

It IS a radical, fundamentalist, America-hating MUSLIM that IS OUR ENEMY. The soooner you get that through your head and decide which side you're on, the better. PLEASE do not preach your false tolerance and understanding propaganda here. The fact remains: any such moderate Muslims, wherever they are, have been starkly absent and silent as activists against the killer radical Muslim movement which wants to obliterate this country, and you know it.

"O Prophet! Make war against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be merciless against them. Their home is hell, an evil refuge indeed." (Koran, 9:73)

"When we decide to destroy a population, we send a definite order to them who have the good things in life and yet sin. So that Allah's word is proven true against them, then we destroy them utterly." (Koran, 17:16-17)

"In order that Allah may separate the pure from the impure, put all the impure ones one on top of another in a heap and cast them into hell. They will have been the ones to have lost." (Koran, 8:37)

"How many were the populations we utterly destroyed because of their sins, setting up in their place other peoples." (Koran, 21:11)

"Remember Allah inspired the angels: I am with you. Give firmness to the believers. I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: you smite them above their necks and smite all their fingertips off of them." (Koran, 8:12)

Koran-(9:5): “But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, And seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem ; but if they repent and establish regular prayers and practices regular charity then open the way for them; for God is oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Koran-(8:65): “ O Apostle ! Rouse the believers to the fight, if there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering , they will vanquish two hundred; if a hundred, they will vanquish a thousand of the unbelievers; for these are a people without understanding.”

Koran-2:216: Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you

Koran-(2:191): “And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out………such is the reward of those who suppress faith.”

Koran-(9:29): “Fight those who believe not the Allah nor the last day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and his apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of truth even if they are the people of the book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”

Koran(48:20): “….Allah promises you much booty that you will capture from the defeated infidels….”

Koran-8:12: I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them

Koran-9:123: O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty.

Koran-4:95: O ye who believe! Shall I show you a commerce that will save you from a painful doom? You should believe in Allah and His messenger, and should strive for the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives. That is better for you, if ye did but know. ... Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than those who sit.

[9.14] Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace, and assist you against them and heal the hearts of a believing

The real problem that islam has is that we can read.

Please DO actually READ my profile. My reference to Clinton is pointing out the fact that his piggish acts while in office were the primary reason I've subsequently contributed substantial money and time towards the election of GW and other conservatives.
