I am tad prejudiced in this, but I also agree that this is a powerfully written piece. I do think it is the best one yet as it cuts to the chase.
"She awakens the conscience of those who ponder her circumstances with any measure of honesty, and clarifies the motives and intent of those who seek her death."

I am very concerned about the appointment of Jay Wolfson as Terri's guardian ad litum and even more concerned that Michael Schiavo's decision making power over Terri will remain in place. Maybe I'm too paranoid, but it just seems as if Felos is just a little TOO agreeable to that appointment. I know the issue also came up about the possibility that he too is somehow involved with Hospice of the Suncoast and is a pro-death advocate. I intend to write Judge Demers with my concerns, not that I think it is likely to matter. I suspect his decision is already made. The courts seem little concerned with the will of the people OR with right and wrong or even justice versus injustice. I have no faith in our government at all at this point, so I am holding on to the One in whom I do still have faith.
FReepers, please write to this judge in Terri's behalf!

Ronald Reagan doesn't know his loved ones anymore. Can't even do a jigsaw puzzle. But I know the pro-deaths would be happy to lose him.

I think I read that long ago; time to find a copy again. There is a movie, I think, that I rented several years ago. You might want to try to track it down.
Do you read Chekhov? In one of his pieces, can't remember which, he noted that as people split off from the predominate religion, they got goofier or more bizarre (my words). Interesting. Chekhov seems to have been an agnostic? but writes with great compassion and insight for his time.
There are some Russian books I haven't been able to wade through though because they just don't hold my interest.

Martyr is exactly the correct term for use here. Funny, I just brought that up on another Terri thread. Bless this orthodox priest for speaking out clearly.
Bump for Bl. Terri Schiavo.

Solzhenitsyn sounded the same warning in A World Split Apart when he said that the abandonment of any reference to God in the Judeo/Christian West would favor man as the touchstone of all truth and value. This development (actually a spiritual regression) would open the door to barbarism. This battle in our country is so evident! God save us from becoming barbarians!

I have been having very evil thoughts. I keep picturing Michael getting hit by a bus/struck by lightning or some other freak accidental death prior to Terri dying. I know, I know, it's terrible to think that but.........

Pingin in...What a breath of fresh air from the Greek Orthodox church or at least Father Jacobse.
And what a terrible tragedy that two Greek Americans are involved in this selfish death cult. Like Kevorkian (of Armenian descent) Felos and Bambakidis aggressively promote death instead of a life affirming position given the horrors of genocide they have suffered at the hands of Muslims for hundreds of years.
