It's bad enough that nine Democratic candidates came to one of the blackest cities in America and didn't focus on the issues vital to black America.
But the debate, which was supposed to focus on urban issues, gave one candidate, U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, the chance to wrongly disparage its host city by announcing a monthly homicide rate that was off by 265 people.

What does it mean that nine pretenders to the Oval Office offered few solutions in Motown, a struggling microcosm for everything that is wrong in America, ......."
How about Motown fixing it self?

Immediately after the gaffe, Kilpatrick left the auditorium and furiously sent aides backstage to dispute Kucinich's allegation that 300 people died on the streets of Detroit in September. "Get to them. If not, tell Huel to do it," the mayor said. Minutes later, Fox 2 TV anchorman Huel Perkins, one of the panelists, challenged the figure, and Kucinich said he really meant 35.Dang decimal points!

I wonder if Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick also pointed out to Mr. Kucinich that Detroit's murder rate is double other major U.S. cities.

We don't seem to be losing 35 of our military, per month, due to hostile action in Iraq!
When is GWB going to stop the hostilities in Detroit?!

Would this article get the authored fired and the paper boycotted if it said:
It's bad enough that nine Republican candidates came to one of the whitest cities in America and didn't focus on the issues vital to white America.
I guess being one of the blackest cities in America gives it a free license to be the most racist city in America too.

... Detroit's murder rate is double other major U.S. cities.Kwame would counter... Yes. But it's only because of those damn handguns! Confiscate the guns, pay reparations, place a black 'leader' in the Whitehouse and maybe things will get better!

I never knew that Kucinich was as bad at Algebra as he was at Government. How did that guy ever graduate HS?
45 per month in Detroit. I wonder how many per month die in Tikrit? Mayor Kilpatrick should probably shut his pie hole regardless of the egregious error on the part of Dennis, the Miniature Gaffe Machine.
