So what the heck is a X17-category explosion ??? Is there an X100 ? Does that mean the sun blew up ?
I don't know about X100 (or X17, for that matter) but I do have some X-10 gadgets that turn lights on and off .... with or without the help of hiccups from the sun!

"which could trigger bright auroras when it arrives perhaps as early as tonight. "It won't hurt me. I live in Texas. The Sun will be on the other side of the world tonight.

Cool.
I will have to remember to lock the kitty in another room.
The idea of him nibbling on my dead body gives me the willies.

Didn't see notice of the 5.9 earthquake near Japan. Not huge.

"Didn't see notice of the 5.9 earthquake near Japan. Not huge." Sorry, maybe I missed it, but I have absolutely no idea what you are referring to.

Other than Auroras, the northern lights, right? What do they do? On the Gulf Coast I don't expect to see any Auroras, anything happening here?
