Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Making his first public comments on the situation of Terri Schiavo, President George W. Bush said he agreed with his brother's decision to allow doctors to reinsert the feeding tube that is allowing Terri to remain alive.
"Yes, I believe my brother made the right decision,'' President Bush said in response to a reporter's question at a news conference Tuesday morning.
Pro-life groups were pleased by Bush's comments.
"I am proud to live in a country where the President has the integrity to make the time speak out on behalf of one human being who is being discriminated against because of her disabilities," Lori Hougens told LifeNews.com.
Hougens, who lobbies Congress on medical ethics issues, added, "This will help in the fight to protect the rights and dignity of all people with disabilities in our country."
President Bush's comments come a day after Michael Schiavo's attorneys filed suit in an attempt to overturn Governor Bush's executive order preventing Terri's death.
Also on Monday, Michael and Terri's parents made their cases on national television. Michael blasted Terri's parents and pro-life advocates.

So, is Chancellor Palpatine/One Particular Harbor going to add President Bush to his frivolous libel/slander lawsuit now?

One side's doctor(s) insist she's brain dead. One side's doctor(s) insist she isn't. Who are we supposed to believe?
Where is the rule of law, e.g. legal definitions, role of the spouse, etc.? (She did marry the guy, no?)
Is God sovereign, or not?
(Food for thought, nothing more. If anything in this post provoked outrage, please reconsider before you flame.)

This comment will make the lefties stuck back in 11/2000 go ballistic. Not to mention the pro-death crowd.
The more they hiss and squeal, the more they reveal their true nature for all to see.

CP and OPH are one in the same, eh? (I guess you mean
one_particular_harbour.)
If so, my opinion of the human race is buoyed somewhat. Thanks! ;O)

One side's doctor(s) insist she's brain dead. One side's doctor(s) insist she isn't. Who are we supposed to believe? This is my first post about this but I think I can answer your question. The husband refused to allow CNN's cameras into her room to film her so we can make up our own minds. That answered my question as to who is telling the truth as to her abilities.

In the midst of the fray, I was one of those chiding the governor for not stepping in, then seeking cover from his legislature. Now, after seeing how utterly corroded the court system in Florida is(!) and how utterly bankrupt the people are who are insisting that this woman be executed upon the growing altar of convenience killing, I'm certain Jeb Bush was correct to attach his actions to the legislative branch. My only qualm is that he waited too long to seek legislative cover.
Our nation is in a life or death struggle ... with the forces seeking to frame our Republic along lines of quality of life, cancelling the sanctity of individual life as they of 'greater enlightenement' see fit. If those forces succeed, we will be mutated from a Republic governed by and of the people, to a mutated thing that is closer to a fascist or socialist state governed by an elete wielding a judicial oligarchy under their control. The key to exposing and disarming these ghouls is to finally understand it is the ones ordering and authorizing the killing whose quality of life is the real driving force. We know this, if we listen more deeply than the soundbyte rhetoric.
'A woman's right to choose' is not about sovereignty of her body so much as it is about demanding the right to kill an alive unborn child in order to prevent the reality of that other alive individual impeding the woman's and or man's 'quality of life'.
The power to order a dependent individual's feeding/hydration tube removed so the dependent slowly dies from dehydration and starvation is not so much about ending 'the suffering' of someone unconscious, it is about putting down a dependent in order to 'move on with the life', the life of the one empowered to order the killing!
To fight and only possibly defeat this level of evil being propped up by a mutated judiciary will require unambiguous participation by the executive and legislative branches of government. Sadly, I'm not encouraged that victory can be achieved ... for it is the people who have allowed this degeneracy to seep in, yet it is We The People who are no longer paying close attention to the functioning of OUR governance.
