Iraqi military officers destroyed or hid chemical, biological and nuclear weapons goods in the weeks before the war, the nation's top satellite spy director said yesterday.

"Telegram for Mr. Assad...."
Consider this: Bush and Co. can afford to wait and let the critics complain endlessly that no weapons were found. Politically his polling numbers haven't fallen that much. So they wait until the Democrats choose their candidate, hopefully an anti-war candidate like Howard Dean, and, when the time is right, announce that WMDs were found and they've known their location for quite some time. The Dems complain, cry foul, etc. and then accuse the Administration of playing politics. The Administration counters that the reason they didn't let this out earlier is because they wanted to ensure the whereabouts of most, if not all, of the WMDs so that al-Quida, Saddam sympathizers, et.al., wouldn't get there hands on them. The "playing politics" charges fall on deaf ears because all anyone can talk about is "they found WMDs", Bush was right, etc.
Meanwhile, the Democrats (and their campaigns) are in a shambles. The economy is on the upswing, things are getting much better in Iraq and, worse yet, WMDs have been found and all the "intelligence failure" talk was incorrect. The Democrats are stuck with their one-issue candidate who was wrong and while they'd like to send him back to Vermont, they can't. It's too late for Hillary to get in. The Dems would have no choice but to fall back on the old Social Security and Medicare scare tactics that, quite frankly, haven't worked so well for them recently. They lose badly in the Congressional races as well as the Presidential election. The GOP wins big and all the judicial nominees are confirmed...and everyone lived happily everafter (except Terry McAuliffe, of course).
Neat, huh?!
