President: Brother Made `Right Decision` In Schiavo Case

WASHINGTON - President Bush said Tuesday that his brother, Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida, did the right thing earlier this month in ordering the feeding tube of a brain-damaged woman reinserted. Michael Schiavo, the husband of 39-year-old Terri Schiavo, had the feeding tube removed with a court's approval. Six days later, on Oct. 21, Gov. Bush used a special law passed by the state legislature to have the tube reinserted.

Schiavo's husband, who has been battling his in-laws for years to carry out what he says is his wife's wish not to be kept alive artificially, is expected to challenge the constitutionality of the state law.

``I believe my brother made the right decision,'' President Bush said in response to a reporter's question at a wide-ranging news conference.

Terri Schiavo suffered severe brain damage in 1990 when her heart stopped. Some medical experts have testified she is in a persistent vegetative state with no hope of recovery; others disagree. Her parents have argued their daughter could improve with therapy.

That's because Dubya is a president that is pro-life not pro-killing the weakest of society.

I agree. But there is more.

I believe the reason is that President Bush is a God-fearing Christian. (He could be a God-fearing Buddhist,or many other religions)

Most of our recent leaders , especially the last one, had traded in belief in God for belief in their own POWER.

Oh yes definately... the siren song of power has made many presidents shipwrecked.

``I believe my brother made the right decision,'' President Bush said

I think he did too.
