Thanks, I see what you are talking about. That is a daymark or a range mark which the deep draft vessels use to line themselves up when they come down Richmond Channel. It is very shallow on the island side of that marker. It has a red triangle and is atop three or four telephone pole type supports, it is fixed and while it is an aid to navigation it is not a bouy. I have passed it scores of times.

That's great info, it was so small I didn't know of any way to tell w/o eyewitness knowledge.
