I'm becoming un-impressed with Bush lately. He works for the American people not the Muslim nation....and he can be replaced.

We certainly don't need to unnecessarily antagonize the Muslims of the world. Boykin needs to go. Who are all those Christians whose support Bush needs going to vote for if he fires Boykin? Dean?

"remarks by Lt. Gen. William G. "Jerry" Boykin about Muslims and Islam do not "reflect my point of view, or the view of this administration" "Others who did not reflect the Bush administration were canned - Lindsey, Zinni, Shineski. Worthy of the Slickster.

If Bush caves in to terrorist front groups like CAIR and diminishes the hero Boykin, the war against islam is over. They will have won.

I dont get GWB.
He allows General Wesley Clark to slander a sitting president (our troops cant do that in uniform, can they?)
But he dis-allows the statements from the BEST of our military.
I'm only voting for him again because I'm a republican - in '08 the repubs need to find someone with a BACKBONE!

Well, I guess it is safer or more prudent to affirm Allah through Ramadan dinners than to think that his god is with him in a war against Islam.

Boykin better start packing.

Bush said Tuesday at his Rose Garden news conference that Muslim leaders he met with last week in Indonesia complained about the comments. Are those the same people that made the anti-Semitic remarks. Why should we care what they think? The general's comments aren't nearly as offensive IMO, but they have been spun that way by those with something to gain from a scandal.

Heck, if you want namby-pamby, enemy-loving Generals, then some of our past heroes should have been fired; like Patton and MacArthur.
I guess MacArthur was fired, but only because Truman wouldn't let him retake all of North Korea instead of insisting we wouldn't "acquire" anything above the 38th parallel. It always seemed to me that when China sent its hordes down and pushed us back the first time that it made the North fair game.
