45-70 as in old breech loaded rifle? In Iowa they use to use the cartige to plow fields. Nothing stops it.

45-70 as in old breech loaded rifle? It can also fire 410 gauge shotgun shells. If you cut the shell into at the wadding, it fires like a slug. Ah, those were the days.
