Rush has become the whipping boy for liberals due to his style of speaking honestly and frankly. Camille Paglia shares Limbaugh's non-repressive style. She also speaks directly and frankly, cutting through most of the BS that dominates American discourse.
Because Camille is from an Italian Catholic background, she has this discursive style of frank candor, gut-level honesty, that curiously enough finds some similarities with Southern conservatives. The linguistics of conservatism is something liberals are thrown by. Because conservative speech tends to cut through the BS that dominates the American media, it gains admirers beyond the strictly "conservative" political base. Although Camille Paglia and Bay Buchanan could not agree on everything, their speech and discursive styles are similar. Whatever one may make of Paglia, we can admire her for being honest and not tolerating BS.
It was too easy for libs to try to make Rush the issue. It's their BS all over the media and the culture which is the real monster.

She wrote a DEVASTATING column on Hillary Clinton -- I wish I had saved it!

Paglia is one of the few (maybe only) feminists who doesn't make me change the channel when I see on TV. I don't agree with a lot of what she has to say, but she's up front about what she thinks and fights rather than whines. Also, I never get the feeling she'll stab her opponents in the back. If she thinks you deserve a few inches of cold steel in you, she'll do it face to face.
