DEMS IN DENIAL

Democrat Presidential Candidates’
Tax Increases Would Reverse Economic Growth

____________________________________

“[The] Bush tax cuts have stimulated venture capital investment, mergers and acquisition activity, and the stock market. … [P]artisans will continue to produce pessimistic analyses, [but] there should be no doubt that this economy is gathering momentum. The strength … will surprise many … George W. Bush should get credit ...” (Brian S. Wesbury, Op-Ed, “The Bush Boom,” The Wall Street Journal, 9/15/03)

Dems don’t get it: say bush
tax relief WON’T work

Dean: “Tax Cuts To Individuals Do Not Stimulate The Economy.’’ (Kevin Landrigan, “Dean Touts Anti-War Stand,” The [Nashua] Telegraph, 9/19/03)

Lieberman: Bush Tax Cuts “Ineffective.” (Jonathan Weisman, “White House Forsees 5-Year Debt Increase Of $1.9 Trillion,” The Washington Post, 7/16/03)

“Kerry: [S]tanding Up And Opposing George Bush’s … Job-Destroying Tax Cut Of 2001 And Saying No.” (Sen. John Kerry, Remarks At Democrat National Committee Fall Meeting, 10/3/03)

Gephardt: President Bush’s Tax Cuts “Haven’t Worked.” (Jerry Miller, “Gephardt Would Trade Tax Cut For Insurance,” The [Manchester] Union Leader, 6/14/03)

Economists Agree: Bush Tax relief grows economy

Powered By Tax Cuts And Low Interest Rates, The U.S. Economy Expanded At A 7.2 Percent Annual Rate In The Third Quarter, The Fastest Growth In More Than 19 Years …” (Rex Nutting, “GDP Surges 7.2%, Fastest In 19 Years,” CBSMarketWatch.com, 10/30/03)

Bush Tax Cuts Spur Consumer Spending, Drive Economic Growth. “Some analysts said the federal personal income tax cut that took effect July 1 was partially responsible for the jump in spending.” (John M. Berry, “Sales Feed Optimism On Growth,” The Washington Post, 10/16/03)

Goldman Sachs Economist Convinced: Tax Cuts Worked. “Edward McKelvey, an economist at Goldman Sachs who was extremely dubious about the Bush tax cuts, now says they played a central role in the new expansion.” ( Edmund L. Andrews, “Spotted: Evidence That Tax Cut Worked,” The New York Times, 10/19/03)

democrat tax increases Won’t Create
Jobs,
will reverse economic growth

History Shows Democrat Approach Doesn’t Work. “Bush and all Democratic candidates say that spurring economic growth is the way out of the nation’s fiscal woes. Bush’s formula is tax cuts. The Democrats’ answer is tax increases. History suggests that Bush’s solution … is more likely to work …” (Morton M. Kondracke, Op-Ed, “Will Any Democrat Dare To Propose Entitlement Reform?” Roll Call, 10/27/03)

Democrat Plans Will Tax And Spend But Won’t Create Jobs. “You can call their plans spending increases, you can call their plans tax increases, but you can’t call them jobs packages,” said Marc Sumerlin, former deputy director of the National Economic Council . . .” (David Jackson, “Dean Takes Brunt Of Criticism In Debate Focusing On Economic Issues,” The Dallas Morning News, 9/26/03)

Thank you for your bump. Were you near any of the fires that broke out in Colorado or did they stay north of Denver?

The nearest fire was about 30 miles north of Colorado Springs, around the Castle Pines golf course. Several structures were damaged, but no one was injured. The rain/snow have started today, so it will cool down significantly. Even the fires up north near Boulder and around Jamestown, were nothing compared to the California fires.

The dems, fortunately, don't know when to shut up. The more they make public statements raising the bar on what defines economic recovery, the more they draw attention to the 7.2% economic expansion. :)

Dean, Kerry, Lieberman, Gephardt say tax cuts don't work.

The world is flat, there are only four elements, mice form in piles of rags.

Demunist equivalent of Mensa: Densa.

Do you think that Dean is going to get the nomination? To me, Clark just seems like a more attractive candidate. Another influential dem you all should be keeping an eye on is George Soros...

President Bush is for Tax Relief while the "ALL" the DemocRAT candidates are for Tax Hikes!

And I think this will ensure the RATS will lose in 2004.

To me, NONE of the 'RATS are worth a dam* ! Probably the 'least dangerous' and most credible would be Lieberman? I don't know.

A few weeks ago, my Dad (the loyal democrat) asked me whom I thought among the Democrat candidates would get the nomination. (He knows I'm a diehard GOPer, of course. I don't know why he brings up politics ... it always causes friction, etc). I told him that none of them had any significant lead in the polls I had seen, so it was simply too early to really tell. It would be speculation, pure and simple (besides the fact fact that none of 'em are worth a dam*, I thought, biting my tongue!, lol!).

Since he got a 'diplomatic' answer from me, he mentioned something about hitlery clintoon maybe running for Prez in 2004. I offered that it was still possible, but rather doubtful for 2004, but more likely for 2008. Still digging, he declared I'd vote for her. Without hesitation, I shot back I believe it. He would too ! He bought the Hillary is the smartest woman in the world spiel - hook, line and sinker. He's such a good 'RAT. Anyway, that ended the political discussion. He wasn't going to get me stirred up that day ...

Me? Dubya is getting my vote, along with ALL GOP candidates since I vote straight ticket.

I'm sure that Soros will throw more of his BIG money at the 'RATS between now and the November 2004 election. But I'd be surprised to see him actually pursue a place for himself. Although, if he so chose, he certainly could finance it with some of his big pile of $$$ ...
