I wonder how much a "cultural sensitivity specialist" costs?

No wonder people are paying through the nose for public schools.

"This is just getting totally out of control and destroying us from within!"

Perspective, Perspective, Perspective.

We can't see the real problems from the perceived problems anymore. Self-esteem and inner feelings trumps good education and great teaching by committed professionalsdedicated to our childrens future.

So how to stop it????

"So she can loose her teaching job, loose retirement -- medical benefits -- be blacklisted from teaching in California and then loose her house, car and most likely many friends. She'll realize pretty quickly the liberals have too much power and control."

You would think just ONE liberal would detect some similarity between this and the treatment of communist "fellow travellers" by HUAC. Ya know, thought crimes, "McCarthyism", etc. Nope. They still won't admit Alger Hiss was guilty beyond all reason, and don't see a thing wrong with what they're doing.

I honestly think the liberal PC culture of today as a whole actively deserves every bit of hatred and venom that was spewed at Joe McCarthy for the last 50 years.

In related news, Professional athlete Charles Barkley says he "hates white people." And no one cares.

As you say it appears the liberals would start to think -- sadly they are looking to enlist more victims so reflecting on the past is not a priority.

I just heard a liberal I work with say that Jews control the media!! So they look at the left winged media and say that it isn't left enough. They look at the education system and say it isn't left enough. They are progressives not logical thinkers.

You can't stop it. There are people in education today who have totally lost touch with reality and have little common sense, and they are dangerous for kids to be around, because they can do so much damage to them and their futures.

In the past couple of weeks, we've had two students in TX withdraw from the public schools because of an asthma inhalator incident; a special ed kid on a bus who pulled a plastic gun out of his coat pocket (Put there by his brother. Kid didn't know it was there) arrested; a kid in NJ suspended for 5 days because he drew a marine shooting an Afghan stick figure. He printed his best friend's name above the stick figure, however. The school psychologist said he wasn't a danger. The school superintendent said the kid had a distubed mind. The kid didn't say whether or not he thinks the superintendent is a jerk or not, but the superintendent is a jerk IMHO; and a girl in GA who was expelled for a story she wrote in her personal journal. The girl want back to school this week. Yesterday she withdrew from her school, because the whole incident was too upsetting.

Now this silly PC incident where we have a teacher in tears and black coworkers are yammering on about "racial profiling" and e-mails that "cut like a knife."

It may stop when parents, students, and taxpayers (cultural sensitivity counselor? Jeesh!)say GROW UP AND ACT LIKE ADULTS WITH A MODICUM OF COMMON SENSE BECAUSE YOU ALL LOOK LIKE FLAMING YOU-KNOW-WHAT'S.

Perhaps it would be more benefit to Mexican students to take English classes rather than Spanish classes.

I missed that point the first time around. Is that why they're bored, because they already know Spanish?

" Is that why they're bored "

If it is Spanish I -- then it would seem to me that yes the Mexicans shouldn't be there -- if they take the entrance exam honestly.

Many kids goof up the test to get an easy credit in foreign language. We wouldn't want to challenge the kids too much and let education get in the way of their political programing.

The solution is si easy.
Simply have separate schools for blacks, Mexicans, and whites. Voila! < Ross Perot >"Problem solved!"< /Ross Perot >

We're talking high school. When I took "English" in high school, it was literature or composition, not learning to speak the language (that's what Spanish class for me). Are the Mexican students learning composition and literature, or are they just being shoved into the class because the curriculum requires all students to take a year of a "foreign language?" They would have been better of shunting the kids into a French class (but then the French teacher would also have to know Spanish).

I'm glad I won't be around when these pupils become the future leaders of the country.

I read how they now have a Gay/Lesbian high school in New York City.

So we have a seperate school for each affected group and we live in harmony and cooperation. Let me guess the kids also study Marxism and beastiality?

I bet if you were to talk to 100 California "Educators" you'd couldn't get even one to admit that we have a problem with the system.

Excellent point.
It only follows that there should be separate schools for blacks, whites, and Hispanics.

Sure you could. They'd all say the problem with the system is Proposition 13.
