They're socialist. It's possible that we're splitting hairs just a tad. However, there is far too much free enterprise in China for it to be called communism. More like a socialist aristocracy nowadays.
At best they'd be an oligarchy --- but I'm pretty sure there is no freedom, not even economic freedom in China. The government controls the businesses.
Brazil has a large educated middle and middle-upper class. So does Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia and to some extent Ecuador (Chile has already been immunized against Communism -- the Communist Party here is extremely vocal but not taken seriously except by a few anti-establishment students). The lowest classes, and the VERY RICH (some of them - i leave this as a exercise in reasoning as to why this is so) are the ones who support Communism.
There will be revolutions in each of these countries, and we must be ready to support these middle classes. The revolutions will, of course, be instigated and supported from OUTSIDE these countries by the International Communist leadership, whereever its true leadership lies (probably in San Francisco or in New York -- Hillary's office?)
We already blew it once in Venezuela by not nailing Chavez while he was playing "i am being ousted in a right wing coup", but Venezurela isn't over by a long shot...
