November 4, 2003 -- Mayor Bloomberg, in an unusually sharp jab at Rudy Giuliani, says racial issues tinged every aspect of his predecessor's administration. "You forget that every single decision, everybody, every story, everything was always couched in terms of race," Bloomberg says in the December issue of Vanity Fair, which hits newsstands tomorrow.

Throw him out of the party? Ha ha ha ha ha. At a disgusting meeting last night, all the party hacks were on his side, while the rank and file were livid about Proposition 3.

We also learned how delegates to the convention will be picked: by the winning candidate, sort of like ambassadorships. Money money money. It's necessary, but it shouldn't be ALL they ever think about.

Right! As soon as I saw the onslaught of Goonberg commercials which starred Rudy, my heart sank because I knew he was going to win -- and I wanted Mark Green to win.

It's not that I liked anything about that obnoxious leftist with the phoniest smile in all of politics, but that I knew that when push comes to shove, Nurse Bloomberg would revert to kneejerk leftist form. So, if we were going to get, essentially, the same results from either jerk, we might as well not hang them on the GOP.

Bloomberg also compares the number of deaths caused by secondhand smoke to the number of people killed in the World Trade Center collapse...

"Think about all the press attention to 9/11," he says. "That number of people die every year in the city from secondhand smoke.

Words fail me...

Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my infrequent ‘miscellaneous’ ping list.

I just laughed when they read a quote from Bloomberg that talked about how Rudy would play fire chief and run to all the fires, but HE delegates responsibility! I only remember Rudy going to visit firefighters in hospitals and going to firefighters' funerals no matter WHAT. How many funerals has Bloomberg been to???

His ego befits a CEO.

Looks like old Bumberg missed his calling as an environmental scientist.

Does this include the NYers who may die in the future from the "second hand smoke" that lingered in the air after 9/11?

I'm wondering, is the Republican party going to put someone in for a primary against Bloomberg?

Vito Fossella, the Staten Island Republican Congressman, is considering running against Bloomy.

Doubling his previous estimates, the mayor says that 2,000 New Yorkers die each year from secondhand smoke.

Bloomberg is a liar -- the next time he cites this phony figure, it will be 10,000 a year!

I've read that even the anti-smoking people claim only a few thousand secondhand smoke deaths in the whole country per year, and the majority of those happen due to somebody living with a smoker, not an employee at a restaurant.

Sure we do. US!!! But they've just made it even harder to for the rank and file to do anything on their own, without party approval. People actually had the audacity to run their own petitions for presidential delegate in 2000. They fixed that!

I used to love to go to NYC right before Christmas and stay at the Plaza, drinks in the Oak Room etc. and shop. It was almost a tradition.

This yr I am going to Chicago where they still have some smoking sections and you can have a cigarette in the bar !!
