To avoid confusion (and some smart- aleck remark later) it's Johnny Cash, not Jesus Christ that won.

I love Toby Keith. Hope he wins something tonight. Preferably before he leaves. And no Dixie Chicks tonight!

Toby Keith ping - but you're of course glued in front of the Idiot Box at this time (and yes - I've been South of the M-D line - I've been to Key West and Miami.)

Is the world coming to an end??? Jimmy Buffett wins a CMA award??? (With the help of Alan Jackson)

About time somebody recognized him for the years of wonder work he's done.

He is recognized. By hundreds of drunk people at Parrot Head meetings all over the country.

That's so very true, been there, done that... have several t-shirts to show for it.

Saw him one magical night in Nashville at Starwood... best concert I've ever been to. The man puts on a show.

Me too. I know they're up for a couple of awards but I doubt if they'll win. Especially since they "left" country music. I loved Reba as host last year. She kept making Dixie Chicks jokes.

He didn't get that one. As much as I like Johnny Cash, I hope he doesn't win everything for sentimental reasons.

Who? Buffet? Yeah, when he's sober. I got dragged to a Buffet concert once...he didn't show.

I got dragged to a second, he didn't show.

But, I don't like his crap anyway.

Any award he gets at this show was well deserved, the material he's nominated for is incredible.

Thanks.

Did anybody notice that when Toby sang "I love this bar", his video was not running in the background like most artists videos do. Like Alan Jackson's did. You know, Toby's video that has the Confederate flag in it.

They projected the bar scene from Star Wars instead.

I have seen him a bunch of times at outdoor theaters, the parking lot party outshines the show. But, he opened up a restaraunt in Downers Grove IL on Tuesday. Monday there was a charity benefit that I was lucky enough to win tickets to. He came in and played. What a great time, in a bar with around 200 people, definately a great experience. Too bad about his politics though.

I guess I'm different, I can usually seperate someone's politics from their music. JB has made so much music that both touches my heart and allows me to escape in my mind to the tropics that his politics just don't matter to me.

Oh, I totally agree. I love the beach, parrothead themes. We get a bus every year to go to his concerts. He is the reason I never say I will boycott someone just because of their politics.
