That's correct. Mecca is the center of the "web", and all Muslims face Mecca each time they begin prayer. Once, when my company constructed a production facility in a Muslim country, we mistakenly oriented the lavatories so that the users' back sides faced Mecca. We had to completely redo the facility to avoid this circumstance. This is a significant issue for them.
