Exactly. Anytime anyone ever suggests that Jews harbor any sort of arrogance at being the "chosen people," my reaction is "Yeah, some chosen people." What's the line from Fiddler on the Roof - "why couldn't He have chosen someone else?"
Ironically, Israel's suffering throughout history is one of the (few dozen) things that cements my belief that they ARE God's chosen. Why else would they be the target of such persecution and hate? It's supernatural, no doubt about it.
