I think it is safe to say that homosexuals were not appreciated at the Academy. Especially since we all signed documents before entering the Academy stating we weren't gay. Either guys like Jeff Petrie didn't know they were gay until after they were admitted, or they lied. For the record, I did not know of any homosexuals (or even rumoured homosexuals) during my four years there. Considering we lived 3 to a room, (each room is about the size of an average bedroom), and every room had a shower shared by 3 roommates, I would say introducing a known homosexual as the third man would create significant problems. Frankly, unless "homophobia" can be defined as a gay guy who is afraid of anyone knowing he is gay, "homophobia" is not a problem at the Academy. Nobody is afraid of homosexuals. No more so than the average woman is "afraid" of sharing a room and a shower with two straight male roommates. That's not phobia. That's discomfort. But this point is apparently lost in the homosexual community, who claim they aren't aroused by the male body unless it's a gay male body. Riiight.

You are right, it 'would creat significant problems'. Like you I wasn't aware of any gay men, but the lesbian crowd was pretty easy to spot and not really afraid to admit it. I'm sure there were gay men. It is only a matter of time before those who prefer tonsil hockey and butt darts want to start a club on the Hudson. Interesting that all of the supposed charter members are ex-military.

Beat Navy will always mean something different now. Just kidding. Congrats on having a great season. You guys deserve one after so long.

Good point.
