BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A loud explosion, probably caused by a mortar or rocket, echoed across the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Saturday evening, Reuters witnesses said.
The sound of the explosion came from the West bank of the Tigris River, an area where the U.S.-led administration has its headquarters in the city. The precise location was not clear, but it follows mortar attacks on the complex earlier this week.

SKY News reporting series of blasts...
BLASTS SHAKE BAGHDAD
A series of loud blasts has been heard in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
It is not known whether there are any casualties or what caused the explosions.
The precise location of the blasts is also not yet clear, but it is believed to have been on the West bank of the Tigris River, an area where the US-led administration has its headquarters in the city.
It follows mortar attacks on the complex last Tuesday.
Earlier, the Red Cross announced it is pulling out of the Iraqi capital and in the southern city due to safety fears.
Last month a bomb exploded outside it's Baghdad headquarters killing 12 people.
More follows...

What is the Government doing to counter the vicious leftist attacks on our morale?
Is everybody in the Administration retarded?
It's time to fight back against these leftist animals in the press and start building up morale both at home and for our troops in ragheadland.
Every time a rat politician lies about the war it helps the enemy, and its time to start making examples of these treacherous SOB's.
Good men are dying and the leftists are determined that they die in vain.

Just got a photo of the remants of a US helicopter being extracted by what appears to be a US Army tank with crane lift capabilities (machinegun and tank hatch topside clearly visibile). Probably an Arab journalist poking around in the fields took this one. This was from today's London-based Arabic-language "Asharq al Awsat"
Sad indeed.
Let's give it back to 'em TEN FOLD. I heard TIKRIT is being rocked and rolled as we speak because of this attack!

That's an M88-basically an armored, tracked wrecker. Can pull an M1 out of wherever it might get stuck, the .50 cal is for other sticky situations.

Thanks. It can pull quite a load without snapping (let 's hope!). And I thought for sure that was a .50 cal. Thanks again.
