Nov. 17 issue — The Jessica Lynch blitz isn’t a feel-good celebration for everyone. Lynch miraculously survived the ambush on the Army’s 507th Maintenance Company. First Sgt. Robert Dowdy—scarcely a household name—was killed riding in the military vehicle along with her. His 14-year-old daughter, Kristy, swallows hard at the constant mentions of Jessica’s battle. “Don’t they know it was Dad’s Humvee?” she says. “Don’t they know it was Dad doing stuff?”

First the news media creates the Jessica circus and now they blame the U.S. Government for it.

They, of course, had absolutely nothing to do with it. < /sarcasm>

**Shoshana Johnson was one of the 507th’s prisoners. But while Lynch is being given 80 percent disability pay, Johnson is getting only 30 percent. It’s a difference of $600 or more a month. Shoshana’s mother, Eunice, has told reporters her daughter has had a hard time. “She gets depressed,” she said. “Her mental state is not what it used to be. She has a lot of medical appointments.” **

I'd appreciate knowing the extent of Johnson's disability. I know her ankle was hurt somehow...bullet wound? Is she now able to walk..carry on light duty? Or is surgery necessary to help in her recovery.

Clearly, the Liberals intend to attack the war from every possible angle. It would have no effect at all if the soldiers involved would learn to just shut up and continue to do their jobs.

Of course, it was the news media itself who failed to tell the stories.

Shoshana was shot in both ankles. This part of the story was on Fox a couple of weeks ago.

I'd appreciate knowing the extent of Johnson's disability. I know her ankle was hurt somehow...bullet wound? Is she now able to walk..carry on light duty? Or is surgery necessary to help in her recovery.

Disability payments are not determined by anything other than what residual damage you have.

For example, a fractured femur (thigh bone) will cause much pain and suffering but, if properly treated, will cause no long term disability. The servicemember suffering a fractured femur from enemy action will therefore get a Purple Heart but zero disability.

Disability formulas are established and different injuries will result in different disability calculations.

The news media knows this. Yet, it does not fit into their agenda to explain it to the American home front.

There are four groups that can cause America to lose this war by totally demoralizing the American home front: The Democrasts, the Liberal news media, the Batthist dead-enders and Islamist fanaticts.

The first two groups are the ones that are demonstrating the most ability to accomplish their goal of an American defeat in Iraq.

All of us who have served in the military can recall the dozens of malcontents and whiners that we encountered in the service.

In this war, the Liberal media will ensure that every last malcontent and whiner they come across will be given their 15 minutes of fame in a news article.

I have always argued that the canonization of Saint Jessica the Blonde and Blue Eyed Warrior Princess was detrimental to other servicemebers who sacrifices were relatively ignored, was detrimental to the morale of the families of those ignored servicemembers and would also be detrimental to Lynch herself who would know that the media hype was pure Bravo Sierra.

Now, the chickens are coming home to roost but the news media that was 90% responsible for this fiasco is taking no responsibility for it. Instead, true to their agenda, the Liberal media is now using an overwhelmed, confused and naive Lynch to undermine the morale of the American home front.
