President Bush is willing to risk his presidency to protect American security.

On Oct. 30, America suffered its bloodiest day in Iraq since major combat operations ceased when a CH-47 "Chinook" helicopter was downed by a surface to air missile. Sixteen soldiers were killed.

Not everyone in America was unhappy.

"I hope the bloodshed continues in Iraq," said "Starpass," a poster on the Democratic Underground weblog. "The only way to get rid of this slime bag...government...relies heavily on what a s**t-hole Iraq turns into.

(American soldiers) need to die...to show these ignorant, dumb Americans that Bush is incompetent."

Most of the posters on the Democratic Underground criticized "Starpass," but a distressingly large number did not.

Meanwhile, Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee are preparing to politicize intelligence. Fox News obtained a copy of a staff memorandum discussing timing a possible investigation of pre-war intelligence on Iraq to embarrass President Bush in the election campaign.

"You can't politicize the Intelligence Committee," said its stunned chairman, Sen. Pat Roberts

A bit more from the article...thanks for posting it, I just read it off another thread.

Since the liberation of Iraq, the ranking Democrat on the Intelligence Committee, Sen. Jay Rockefeller of West Va., has accused Bush of claiming, falsely, that Saddam's WMD programs posed an "imminent" threat.

Bush never said that. But Rockefeller did. "I do believe Iraq poses an imminent threat," Rockefeller said in a speech last fall. "But I also believe that after Sept.11, the question is increasingly outdated. It is in the nature of these weapons and the way they are targeted against civilian populations, the documented capability and the demonstrated intent may be the only warning we get. To insist on further evidence could put some of our fellow Americans at risk."

Rockefeller speaks with so many forks in his tongue....

If anyone thinks the democrats are to be trusted with national security has another thing coming (or is part of a terrorists fifth column).

This is chilling and telling of the mindset of those that post on DU. This DUer is right in line with those that were intending to cause harm at the Central Valley FR rally and picnic.

I thought that the reason that most of those DUers hated the war was all the death and destruction. Yet, here they are hoping that our soldiers die.

I agree, good article on a good site. I like his wrap-up:

"President Bush is willing to risk his presidency to protect American security. Democrats are willing to risk American security to advance their political ambitions. The election in 2004 is the most important since the one in 1864".

And there it is.

Bush will lose the election because of the prescription drug issue for our senior folks unless he come up with a deal.

Canada has the plan that the American seniors like and that will plan be shut down soon.

President Bush is willing to risk his presidency to protect American security.

And there I thought he had changed his mind, fired Karl Rove, and decided to secure the borders.

My first thought as well.

Wishing American Soldiers to die for any reason, much less for political gain or satisfaction is the lowest anyone can get. Since this is a public forum, I will refrain from saying what I really think of this POS and all democRATS who think the same.

If this were true, he'd shore up our borders and stop the flood of illegals coming in. But he isn't willing to risk alienating them or their compatriots who CAN vote.

totally right on...we've known all along that the Dems are secretly rooting for us to lose. Shameful and treacherous, even a Democrat, Zell Miller, agrees. Too many on DU are cheering American deaths. I've discovered an Albanian student attending the Rochester Institute of Technology who has been cheering on Iraqis killing Americans, I've sent his info to Rochester PD and the school. They should deport his sorry butt.
