Question: Why didn't the Pentagon correct the erroneous Washington Post story?
Answer: Because there isnt enough time in the day to keep the press corrected.
Stupid comment: The Pentagon wanted to get this good news (the rescue) out quickly.
The facts: PA policy is to get every bit of news out quickly
especially the bad news.

I watched the interview, and was amazed by how little Jessica knew about her weapon. And it's obvious from her account of most of the soldiers weapons jamming or malfunctioning that they did not properly clean and care for the very tool that ultimatly could keep them sucking air.
It's something the Army needs to take a look at IMHO, mantainence crew or not, they are still soldiers first and need to have constant training in the basics of warfare even if it appears to have little to do with their field of expertise.
I'm steering clear of the flame war other than to say it was obvious to me also from the interview that Jess would have curled up into a fetal position even if her gun had been functional before the crash.

I can't watch Diane for very long because, to me, it looks like she's talking with someone else's mouth. She sounds OK, it's the visual thing...it's like she rented those lips and hasn't had a chance to get used to them yet.
