I think you're right on target. You'd be surprised at the number of Ten Commandment signs that have popped up in yards all over Alabama in recent weeks. IMHO, he ignored the rule of law and deserves removal; however, the Ten Commandments are quite popular in my neck of the woods.
My guess is that he will get less votes in the next election. He was already getting all the religious right's vote, and a lot of other conservatives who hadn't had a chance to find out he was nuts.
This time around he won't get any votes except the hard core religious right. Maybe 30%
