Right you are on both counts. Beat the Finns 5-2 for the gold, and Baker's goal tied Sweden --- and the Swedish goaltended was none other than the late, great Pelle Lindbergh, who starred for years with the Flyers before running his Ferrari into a wall at high speed.
Baker, btw, was an absolute bust for the Blues. Couldn't/wouldn't hit a lick.

I can't take the credit....that belongs to my hubby. I think that the 1980 Olympics was a big boost for the moral of this country....that and Ronald Reagan.

I still vividly recall goalie Jim Craig, with an American flag draped over his shoulders, looking into the stands immediately after the game ended yelling "Where's my father?" (Actually, it was "Wheyeh's mah fathah?") :-)
And Mike Eruzione's post-game interview where he said (and I'm paraphrasing) "This is the pinnacle. Nothing can beat this. I'm not playing hockey again." And he kept his word.
