Well, well documented!
The other person who seems to have had an operational relationship with Saddam in the 90's ... and the 80's ... and the 70's ... is Jacques Chirac.
It would be interesting if someone would check into whether or not Chirac knew that Saddam also had connections with Osama. Maybe, maybe not ... but worth finding out.
Dang!

Not to worry. Pretty soon, the dems will start proclaiming that the memo was a fabrication. Or that the intel was faulty. OR ... someone had a political axe to grind, thus, it's not true.
(Pigs CAN fly, you know ... as evidenced by Hillary in Air Force One. Just ask any liberal ;)

"Or did you have something else in mind?" There also remain several thousands of deaths, worldwide, Americans, innocents and otherwise, that will accrue from the ongoing prosecution of the War on Terror.
Most of them ultimately traceable to Clinton's incompetence and venality.
I am aware, of course, of the guidance and multiple warhead technology that was exchanged for campaign cash. I would also bet there are even more breaches of security and other manifestations of incompetence that we don't yet know about.

I just did a quick headline search at CNN, NY Times, LA Times, etc. and (gee wiz) couldn't find any reference to this "leaked" memo.I did a NewsAlert request on news.Google.com for "Saddam +Osama" to be emailed whenever those two appear in the same news article.
So far the only relevant newsalert article I've received has been for the WeeklyStandard.

Isn't the timing interesting? Makes me wonder if the memo from the Dem. staffer on the Intelligence committee was just put out there to suck up the oxygen in the media so that the memo outlining the cooperation between Sadaam and Osama would NOT be given media play, thus denying that info to the American public.

" MR. BEN-VENISTE: Now, the public record -- and I'll make reference to a June 22nd, 2003, newspaper article published by the Washington Post under the byline of Walter Pincus, who is one of the most respected journalists analyzing the intelligence community in our country, reported that there was significant doubt cast on this very al Qaeda-Iraqi connection."
Thanks for your post at #310 - the quote above is from the second link you provided which is the transcript of testimony given by Laurie Mylroie. Mr. Ben-Viniste's comments seemed to be intended to discredit Ms. Mylroie's testimony. Interesting that Mr. Walter Pincus, Washington Post, crops up again. (he seemed to be very familiar with the Wilson-Plame facts at a very early stage and apparently had dinner with the Wilsons on July 4)

"We've been hearing it for days now: Who leaked the secret Democrat documents?!" Why, don't you know? The Republicans stole them.
That makes the GOP guilty of petty theft, while absolving the Democrats of sedition.

The way I see it is this: I already figured there was a link between Osama and Iraq. I mean, they had common enemies after Gulf War I: The U.S. and Saudi Arabia. And the U.S. IN Saudi Arabia. It makes perfect sense that Saddam and Osama both would be helping out the enemy of his enemy on the sly.
But don't think this will change any skeptic's minds. They'll just say it was made up.
