Bernard Goldberg on Tim Russert's show

Just saw the replay, it was excellent. My favorite part was the Monkfish bit, partly because Monkfish are delicious. ;-)

Also near the end he mentioned an idea of a website he would call 'news jerks' for people who felt attacked by journalists could respond in kind. Well, not the same idea he mentioned, but someone has taken that URL. It is a bare-bones Onion like parody site.

Here's a sample:

SENATE HUNKERS DOWN FOR 30 HOUR SESSION

The Senate is undergoing a marathon 30 hour session to break a Democrat-led filibuster against President George W. Bush's judicial nominees. The nominees are guilty of being Republicans and the Democrats have no intention of letting anybody like that become a judge. The one that really has the Dems riled up is Justice Janice Rogers Brown, a black conservative California Supreme Court Justice. Liberals believe African-Americans have no business being Republicans and should do as they're told and become Democrats. The Democrats have allowed votes to be taken on a majority of President Bush's nominees, but have decided to hold up six because they're high profile and the Dems believe they can make a big deal out of them. So far, nobody is paying attention to either side.

**Brit: "An invented right, growing out of another invented right."**

And didn't he add something about it being endangered? Didn't use that word, but maybe said slim, flimsy....something like that.

He appears to be quite 'taken' with himself. He's a real Rennaisance Man who has come down from the mountaintop, like Moses, to impart the wisdom he's discovered to the rest of us.

He said he's a 'real religious Catholic'. In the same breath he said his heros are Father Berrigan and Cesar Chavez.

Gak!

The one item that Tony kept trying to nail Dashcle on was the misleading 168-now vs. 6.

He talked about the circuit courts and the ratio being more like 50% of the Bush nominations are blocked. Daschle evaded.

Brit said 1 or 2 changes on the Supreme Court could change Roe v Wade.

WOW! At around 8:52 (almost the end of the interview) the pivotal question came.........Michael Moore is talking incredulously about Anne Coulter's beliefs (as a prototype for Conservatives in general).

He just refuses to believe that she (or anyone else, for that matter) believes what she believes. Brian Lamb challenges him and asks him how he can say what he's just said. Paraphrase: "OTHER people have OTHER beliefs". This completely confuses Michael and he starts to laugh and then attempts to rationalize his way out of the intellectual corner he's painted himself into (ie. he's REALLY a narrow-minded individual who cannot empathize with anyone else; It's-all-about-ME!-narcissism).

In the end he just can't make the intellectual leap. It's not in his nature to even consider that someone else may have a different belief-system.

VERY revealing!!!!!!!

OK, over to the PATS vs. BOYS. (Who gives a rat's-a$$ whats going on in the musak awards)

(((((

The dems hammered home that misleading 168-4. I did not see the Rs get an opposite soundbite to drum into any casual viewers brain.

12 Circuit Court Judges have been approved, and 17 are waiting, with a promise from Kennedy, Leahy, and Schumer to block them all.

That is the real story.

I am going to watch Clark on MTP.

Weasely Clark has only one REAL purpose in this campaign. To pull enough votes away from Dean to prevent him from becoming the unstoppable front runner so that the Demmycrats will turn to Hillary as their "savior" next year. Unfortunately for the Hildebeast, Clark's personality is so loathsome that he even turns off the Demmycrats and his poll numbers are now hovering around the 5% level. Hildebeast will now have to come up with a new plan. I suspect this will consist in a lot of derogatory news stories about Dean. Has he ever performed abortions? If so, I guarantee we will be reading about it in the news soon.

My guess is she's banking that the Hitlery crowd will throw Howie under the bus, ridding them of a fer-sure loser, to throw the mantle to an annointed female who's a proven commod(ity).
