This could be a critical moment in the history of marriage in the US. If it is ruled that gays can marry, this will turn into a major campaign issue for 04.

If those pervert hedonists get their way, we should all march on our local city hall and demand that we can "marry" sheep.

I heard it had been 4-3 against and one of the three was a lesbian who believed only the legislature could do this.
She was probably worked over the last several months.

So true. I will be interesting to watch Dean and company try to thread the needle on this one. This is a day they've been dreading.
Reporter:"Gov Dean, would you support a pro-marriage amendment to the US Constitution to negate this decision?"
Dean: "Um, um, I am a metrosexual. . .um, um, I support civil unions. . .um, um, lets repeal the Bush tax cut . . no comment."

The trouble with this is that the only way this could be enjoined is through federal court and the Federal Goverment has no standing based on the enumerated powers reserved to states.

This should be reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal interesting, because MA's a unique blend of Crunchy left + Irish Catholic left + NIMBY/Limousine Liberal left.

Oh, the irony...
"Marriage" is not marriage if it is not recognized by God.

Why do I have the feeling they're going to make it legal? They're far far lefties there.

I don't know. Being gay, in my opinion is a lifestyle and nothing more. I don't condone gay marriage, I don't condemn it to a great severity. Everyone is up in arms where I am right now. Gay people are "flying colors" anti-gay people are making their opinons well known. We don't have a "straight pride day", but now I'm thinking that we should. And another thing is, I saw a slogan the other day, that said that we should not tolerage gayness, but accept it. What if someone doesn't want to, but has the decency enough not to make a ruckus? That should be ok too. No one HAS to accept ANYTHING.
I'm probably going to get flammed big time for this. I'm just frustrated with all the hulabalo, that all. I can't go anywhere without someone shoving their opinion in my face. ( That's Not directed at any Freepers)

Don't sweat it, you know the FIX is IN, the gays will get a victory today, just like they did in the most conservative state of Texas! :(

Guarentee ya they'll approve it.
I'm not sure why gays WANT marriage. Heck, if you want a stifling relationship where there's no sex and you are sniping at one another all the time, call your mom.

I keep hearing the headlines on Fox News. The Supreme Court ruled the 7 gays couple do have the right to marry.
How is it that a court is making law, instead of the legislature?

Massachusetts is a toilet.
I wouldn't expect anything rational from this court of jack-in-the-box clowns..
