"By the way, I was in London when Bush spoke about Blair's constituents. He called them "Geordies" NOT "Georgies." That's a complete fabrication."
Why am I not surprised by this? Because since the start of the Iraq war I've taken a closer look at the "objective" British press and seen how utterly irresponsible and biased it is, far worse than the so-called "profit-driven" American press.

"but we wouldn't march against Prince Charles, chanting rude slogans if he came to visit. Precisely. Obviously we have "evolved" more than they have. "I just listened to Rush. He said there were only 200 protesters. The media had me thinking it was in the thousands. I keep forgetting ,you cannot believe a damn thing the media says.

" And the arrogant "I'm smarter and better than you" attitude of Northeast intellectuals explains why one hasn't been elected president since 1960. Americans prefer presidents who eat corn-on-the-cob to those who have corn cobs up their butts."I love that one. Thanks for the laugh, Steve.

"It is his style rather than his politics that causes many of the problems over here," said Chris Brown, professor of international relations at the London School of Economics. "It's the kind of slightly sentimental, folksy-ish, hokey-type quality. That kind of folksy style that he uses, that goes down badly with north-eastern US intellectuals, goes down even worse over here." Oh Please! Another academic socialist snob from the school responsible for educating half the tinpot dictators in Africa and Asia.

"My guess is they'll get along just fine," Professor Brown said. "They can talk about horses, which they both love. And neither of them are intellectuals." It is obvious that Professor Brown has not done his homework; Dubya first met the Queen when his father was President and the whole family went to Buckingham Palace where Dubya and her Majesty hit it off immediately.

I don't know why they wouldn't "hit it off". I recall reading that they even have some ancestors in common back a little ways.
That's not necessarily remarkable, either. My spouse has ancestry in common with each of them, too. We forget that we were very inextricably bound to the British for years before the great influx of immigration overtook us and altered our perception of ourselves.

All Bush would need to cure this problem would be Left wing politics.
Then the writers would all gush over his lovable American "Down Home" style.

Largely true; they might still chuckle a bit at his American ways, but the withering scorn - not to mention the sheer hatred - would be gone.

Americans prefer presidents who eat corn-on-the-cob to those who have corn cobb up their butts. Nice. This thread is littered with outstanding comments. Why can't they all be this way?
