What Happens when the Angry Left lets its true feelings about the South Out
BushBlog ^

From the BushBlog
Joel over at Southern Conservatives points out this beligerant mumbling on Daily Kos that the Democrats lose elections in the South because the South is "un-American."
The demos have not yet come to terms with the harsh reality behind their loss of the south. To wit, the south is full of racist troglydytes who adore lynching people, who enjoy seeing pregnant women and young students savaged by police dogs, and who think it's wonderful when innocent retarded people are wrongly convicted of heinous crimes and sentenced to death on a regular basis.
The brutal reality behind the loss of the south is that the south never was a part of America -- it was a medieval state within America, devoted to a "peculiar instituion" which nauseated all the other civilized people in America, and after the Civil War devoted a continuation of the "peculiar institution" by other means (namely, sharecropping).
[. . .]
This is why the demos have lost the south. The south is not American and abhors the basic values of America, and has worked hard to subvert them. Whether by the unconstitutional actions of Texan majority leader Tom DeLay, the General Pinochet of American politics, or the non-stop lies and violations of nearly every provision ofhte Bill Of Rights (excepting hte right to religious freedom) by George W. Bush (another Texan), people form the deep south loath and despite the basic values that make America what it is. They want to turn America into El Salvador, and the demos will fight to stop this. That's the fundamental reason why the demos have permanently lost the deep south.
Now, the demos have never faced up to this. They foolishly think they can inveigle the politicians and voters of the deep south into voting democratic by changing their image, or putting out a new slogan, or re-balancing the national checkbook.
Wrong.
Politicans and voters from the deep south will never vote democratic until the demos prove that they are in sync with the values of the deep south -- by burning a black person alive, drawing and quartering suspected witches in public, and tearing up the U.S. Constitution and feeding it into a bonfire along with books written by jews and asians and other non-white non-Christian citizens of America.
Come on now, tell us what you really think - don't hold back now.
Wow - I'm truly at a loss for words. |

Wow.
I thought I was reading a satire, until I read the whole thing. I honestly thought this was satire -- who would write such things and actually mean and believe them?
Double wow.

I'm crushed...speechless. I never realized what an un-American racist troglodyte I am. So ashamed...donating to Dean right now...

Geez I hate these anti-Southern rants by people who probably have never seen life south of the Bronx. I've put up with this crap from the day I was born up until the present day.
If the culture of Massachussets, New York, or California
(I have lived in each) is a shining example of 'enlightenment" to these idiots, I think I'll gladly spend the rest of my life in the South, where I was born and raised. At least here I can count on friendly neighbors, good barbeque, and a culture that isnt afraid to worship at their local church.
The anti-Southern groups perpetually live in the past and cant see the plain fact that the South is the most vital, growing, and innovative portion of America today. Our congressmen and senators ( with some notable exceptions) are the staunchest defenders of traditional American values, and our youth proudly serve in the military and pay the cost of our freedom daily. Traditionally, the South has always lost more of its young to combat in our recent wars.
The Dem's can kiss my white Southern Arse. I may even add grits as a side dish.

The hair on the back of my neck is standing up and I swear, the room tempurature has dropped about ten degrees. I am beyond sickened.
My whole family is from the South, and apparently, I am as well, considering he has dumped all of Texas into that category.
And my family(my father's side, my mother's side, and my husband's side) is hardly more "enlightened" than your average southern family, yet I can't think of any member that's even a fraction of the evil that this writer has slandered an entire region with.

Interesting. The South produced the last two Democrat Presidents (Carter, Clinton) and Al Gore. Not that we're bragging about that.

Was thinking the same thing. You can't really respond to that. It's too far gone and so over the edge
which nauseated all the other civilized people in America,
Now would that be the 'civilized people' up north that refused to allow blacks to even live in their states or would that be the 'civilized people' up north that as late as mid War called for blacks to be 'relocated'?

Another brainless turd has offered an opinion on the South.
What else is new? Such moralistic tripe is about as entertaining as a root canal.

This piece reminds me of the pissed-off flailing that happens in the last exchanges of some debates, when one side has lost the argument and procedes to lose their composure.

It could just be me, (grew up in Wisconsin and N.E. IA, but spent most of my adult life in AZ, VA, and now MO), but the only people I ever recall talking like that about the South were useless intellectual 'perpetual student' sorts of the type one sees driving cabs and working at fast food places in university towns, because they can't stand to grow up, get a life, and get a real job. Why bother with them?
