"The 60 or so leftist and Islamist groups involved in this odd enterprise have never managed to win more than one half of one percent of the votes in any British general election. Nor have they succeeded in winning a single seat in parliament or a majority in a single municipal council."

This sounds exactly like our third party whiners and losers who are against the war in Iraq as much as the liberals.

But we now have a new weapon. When we were at our jobs and could not be heard among the demonstators that were in the streets instead of working for a living, we had no voice.

Now we have Free Republic and the internet, AND IT HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE.

Free Republic and the other conservative sites on the internet are our tools/weapons for the survival of America.

They do make a difference, and this is why Freepers should be monthly donors to Free Republic to keep this tool for Freedom alive.

"We really want to stop Bush and Blair from going around killing babies," she said.

I guess, then, she was opposed to the US and NATO dropping bombs on Serbian civilian infrastructure and other targets in populated areas of Belgrade during the Clinton Administration.

these so called Veterans spent the majority of their time on active duty in the stockade or brig.

LOL...Reminds me of the soldiers being referring to at the end of the introductory speech in the movie "Patton." -- "When you have your grandson on your knee, and he asks you 'What did you do in the great World War 2,' you won't have to say...'Well, I shoveled sh!t in Louisiana...'"

A prominent member is George Galloway, a Labour-party parliamentarian under investigation for the illegal receipt of funds from Saddam Hussein.

In his memoirs, Galloway says that the day the Soviet Union collapsed was "the saddest day" of his life.

Huh.

Actually, the day AFTER the Soviet Flag was pulled down from the Kremlin was the saddest day for me....

You wanna talk about award-winning hangovers...whoa boy - that was in the top three for me....

There is an interesting site called "Stolen Valor". What we are having now is an epidemic of people now claiming they fought in Vietnam. Most of these loosers that claim this now actually went to Canada.

Unbelievable. As least John Kerry has photographic proof. I'm reminded of that noted professor of US history a couple of years ago who was found to faked a military record for himself -- claimed to have been in Vietnam, when he wasn't. I think this kind of thing is a serious psychological delusion, brought on by cowardice and shame, which their unconscience can no longer live with.

"George W. Bush's visit to London this week will be historic for at least two reasons. He will be the first U.S. president to come to Britain on a state visit."

.....Maybe I'm mistaken, but I seem to recall a visit by Reagan to Britain. Could someone explain this to me?

"But what if a U.S. withdrawal means the return of the Taliban and Saddam Hussein? "Anything would be better than American Imperialist rule," she snapped back. "

So she is actively working against the British / American Governments during Wartime. Isn't that treason? Weren't the Rosenburgs given the chair for that?

That's why I prefer the term 'Stoplight socialists.' They go from green to red with a brief flash of yellow.

That is very good!

I wonder if the BBC is disappointed that nothing has been accomplished by this latest "steet democracy" much like nothing was accomplished by the anti-war/block the street idiocy America had before...and much like the anti-missle protest of the same cast of characters in Europe in the 80s...I mean, is there ever a time when the moderate Left looks at these people and says; Wow, these street protesters lose...every---single---time.

In either case what these people tried to do was a major failure. These people should be banned from entering the United States and not allowed to spread their message. If we don't allow our own citizens which are conservatives to speak on campuses,we definitely should not allow a bunch of foreigners to exercise any first amendment rights which they are not entitled to.

I saw it explained somewhere that it is a "state" visit if the queen invites you & not someone in the government.

How can they when CNN, FOX and MSNBC are oh-so diligently covering Michael Jackson 24/7 as though HE were the most important news in the history of the US?

Honestly, I am getting so sick of this All Michael, All the Time coverage, that the next time we have a terrorist attack in the US, I will not only blame the terrorists, but the cable news networks for its unconcienable diverting of the nation's attention from all those islamic terrorist cells now operating openly in mosques and concentrating their coverage instead on utterly worthless 'news' like a has-been singer/child molester or a slimey congressman suspected of killing a female aid or a tragic but insignificant killing of a mother and her unborn child.

I could just scream!

This is an "Official State Visit" which means the Queen Herself made the invitation. It's seems a little blurry, but that is why this has to have some significance greater than Airforce One landing at Heathrow.

On top of which, this took over two years to plan.

I beg to disagree with you since I saw the photos of her after she was told to try and hold up the bulldozer. Apparently she took the request a little to literal. If you ask me, and in my opinion, her mouth was wide open like the other photo but her face seemed to be a little flater.

But why are these people taking to the streets?

Because they HAVE NO goals! I've said it before, these people can not think above the waist. They are irresponsible and just want to party, party, party! Protest is just an excuse to party, combined with their angst and naivete.

"The demonstration's security force, made up of muscular Marxists and Islamists, has instructions to prevent any sign of pro-American sentiments. A group that has said it wants to take part in the demonstrations with t-shirts saying "Bush-Cheney: Four More Years!" has been warned of "dire consequences.""

I offer my assistance in this manner. I am of normal size and weight, but possess the tenacity of 10 of these goons. Surely, just one of these animals will not be enough to prevent me from carrying out my consitutional rights. I'm willing to back it up using any means.

We need to organize a group of "specialist" to counter this tactic used by the puppets of terrorism. I offer my services.

"The aim of the coalition is simple: to stop the war currently declared by the United States and its allies against 'terrorism.'"

Hey, wait a second! I thought we were acting unilaterally. You mean we really have allies? I wrote to the anonymous public forum section of my local paper recently, saying that the coalition our president put together for Iraq was essentially the same as that which invaded Normandy in 1944: the U.S., U.K., Australia, Poland, and a lot of French resistance.

"We really want to stop Bush and Blair from going around killing babies," she said. "Our objective is to force the U.S. out of Iraq and Afghanistan."

And these same idiots would be in the streets if the government outlawed abortion! So its okay for oppressive regimes to murder women and children indiscriminately, and its okay for doctors to kill a baby as its being born or is capable of surviving on the outside, but don't you dare oust the oppressive regime and free millions of people and ensure that their children can live much better lives!

I feel the same way. The bewitching mystification people have with these lurid stories frightens me. It especially frightens me that "conservatives" would allow themselves to get caught up in this tawdry gossip without addressing the serious constitutional challenges poised by these stories: I'm uneasy with the merging of government and the media in developing these "products" for their own ends. These stories seem like diversions, and while people get caught up in these sophomoric and prurient teasers we're being blinded to real threats to our liberties and freedoms. Right now our access to the Internet and sites like this one is facing serious curtailment if the ban on Internet taxation is not extended as is being proposed, yet all people seem to want to discus is MJ -unbelievably frightening.
