Maybe so. We might have to fight MORE than 23 million Muslims. But the way it is going, we are going to have fight them anyway. Watch and see what happens when other Muslims perceive us to be without the will to fight and do what is necessary to stop the killing. It is only going to get worse. When U.S. soldiers can be wantonly killed and then dragged from their vehicle and mutilated...the killing will only increase. Watch and see.

This is why Bush is President and you are not. He goes around saying nonsense like "Islam is the religion of peace" because he DOESNT WANT TO FIGHT Muslims. These are the odds: In Al Quaeda - 5,000 (at most); Muslim - 1 BILLION.

Bush explicitly is trying to get as many Muslims on our side - from the leader in Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, to Yemen, we need govts and people to help root out terrorists - even from those in the past who have been supporters and enablers of it.
As long as Muslims are not actively attacking us, bombing us, or inciting others to do so, they are not enemies. They can even be friends and allies.
However, something is going to have to be done or we are going to see worldwide killings of U.S. citizens by radical Muslims. Well, we are already seeing that - since 1979 to be exact. 1980s in Lebanon, then Al Quaeda in 1990s. The 'something' that Bush has devised is the right strategy - we were right in Afghanistan and in Iraq. In both cases we took out a state sponsor of terrorism and brought the fight to the terrorists. Now we see them attack us as terrorists in those lands. The civilian population is NOT the enemy, a small number of terrorists organized against us are our enemies.
How to win? With local allies, use 'divide and conquer' to defeat them. Terrorists have to operate via cells. let them group, find the connections, infiltrate then destroy. Think of it as having to get rid of anthills or termites. Tough work.
The answer is not to take on all of Islam. That's insane idiocy that would kill thousands and truly destroy any hope to near-term victory. That is the opposite of the strategic imperative "divide and conquer".
The right strategy in Iraq is simply this: Find the terrorists and kill them. There is no need, use, no moral justification to kill any innocent civilians.
