November 24, 2003 -- BOSTON - Two polls released yesterday show that Massachusetts lawmakers could be bucking public opinion if they try to thwart the Supreme Judicial Court's ruling last week that found the state's ban on gay marriage unconstitutional.

This doesn't surprise me. The politicians which are consistently voted in by this state are a fairly good indication of where its moral compass is pointing.

If the STATE or FEDERAL Government wish to provide civil unions, why not?
But they cross the line in giving them "marriage" as it is specified in the Holy Bible. Here is my "argument" (I'm not that good at putting things across, but I think my point will be understood:
To allow gays to "marry" would be interefering with religious practices in the United States. Allowing gays to "marry" would , in fact, be telling the American People HOW they should worship, and WHAT SACRAMENTS they should decide are holy, and what they should believe as far as THEIR GOD tells them!
Allowing Gays to "marry" would be allowing the government to ESTABLISH RELIGION.
Anyone else see it this way?

"If people want to be together, who cares?" said Bill Luff, 32, a nightclub owner in Worcester."
Some people are so dumb. If he really thinks this is about trying to keep people apart!
I assume he pays health insurance for his employees? And what does he think will happen to his rates once the health insurance companies get sued to cover homosexual spouses, which are a high risk group for illness and accidents?
You know, something I have never seen, what are the average medical payouts for homosexuals? They compile them on smokers easy enough, and yes, even most minorites.

I don't like the idea of gay "marriages" either, but I see no harm in "civil unions" either.

If a "Gay Marriage" referendum was held in Massachusetts it would lose 2 to 1.

These articles are trying to give cover to the politicians to bend over for the homosexuals.
A politician who votes for this will be voted out of office. Support for homosexual unions is anti family, and anti-children.

The harm is when the civil union is identical but for name to marriage.
If homoseuxals wanted only civil unions, they could easily do it with simple documents. Same as a man/woman who just life together.
Civil unions are just the ho-hum so what road to changing the word.
We do not give special rights to other sexual fetishes there is no reason to give it to homosexuals.

LOL! When was the last time you saw an S&M "Pride" March?
I pretty much agree with you and my normal "live and let live" life outlook is seriously pinched by the rabidity of militant gays.

Now, I won't claim to know about the average "medical payouts" for homosexuals, BUT, I noticed that with the advent of AIDS, THATS when my insurance premiums began to get "out of hand".
Think about it. Anyone who was paying a decent amount for decent coverage in the 70's and 80's...think about it...yep, AIDS and homosexuals have ALREADY taken their toll on insurance rates for the rest of us.
I do not understand WHY they are allowed to spread this disese with impunity.

No mention of the methodology or phraseology used in either poll.
If they followed El Globos usual pattern, they called the first 250 names in the Brookline and Cambridge phone books.
I'm a MA native, lived there for the first 53 years of my life and still have family and friends there.
I know of no one who favors this.

Well, there is AIDS, and there is also a much higher percentage rate of domestic violence among homosexuals. Now I would also assume (I don't know) lots of other physical problems occur among homosexuals, due to their unnatural use of their elimination system.
