Gay marriage ruling's based on arrogance

Do-good judges drive new wedge into society

Some admire the gay-marriage ruling in Massachusetts. Some don't. But surely the heart of the story is the stupefying arrogance of the state's Supreme Judicial Court.

If you are going to stretch a state's constitution beyond all previous understanding, and impose what many people believe is a fundamental redefinition of marriage, you don't do it in a 4-to-3 vote. There is no consensus among Massachusetts voters for such dramatic change.

On a liberal court, thought to be favorable to gay issues, there was not even a consensus among the seven judges who pondered the issue for more than a year.

The three dissenters expressed some sympathy for gay arguments but also some serious legal doubts.

Justice Martha Sosman wrote that as a matter of constitutional jurisprudence, "the case stands as an aberration. To reach the result it does, the court has tortured the rational-basis test beyond recognition."

No matter. Chief Justice Margaret Marshall rammed the ruling through anyway.

Gay marriage, unlike civil unions or benefits for committed gays, will now produce an enormous and divisive national uproar. Right in the middle of a presidential campaign. Good work, Massachusetts.

JESUS DEFINES MARRIAGE: "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore, they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." -from THE BIBLE: Matthew 19:4-6

Hey, that Court, it's judges ~ they may not know what gay marriage really entails, but they sure do know what they like, eh?!

I genuinely believe that was the main purpose in this.

It is a dagger aimed at the heart of a civil society, as well.

But he doesn't define a relationship between woman and woman

So, Jesus used the word "wife" in a gender-neutral manner? If you really want to follow the word as it is delivered by the Bible, you would realize that it is not those that resist same-sex marriage/union that have to explain themselves to Jesus, it is those that participate in those activities that must reconcile if they are to be saved.

unjust judges (Luke18:6) who know neither the Fear of God--
nor the Rule of Law--have ordered a complicit Congress in
Mass. help them reinterpret the claer language of the
constitution--in this act they purjur themselves. And
violate the law-- but this being the State where Teddy
Kennedy has perfected defence of immoralpolitical action
they will probably get away with demanding that the Mass.
State laws prohibiting Bigamy --and Co-habitation are Now
as null and void as marriage in that State.

gregsg, It sounds like you've been reading your bible Upside down! Turn it over and try again. Try to look at things the way they really are, not the way you want them to be. This gay marriage thing is a direct hit on the morality of this country AND goes against GODS word completey! If we in this great nation desire to continue to enjoy the freedom that we've enjoyed in the past we must stand up against imorality and continue to be ONE NATION UNDER GOD. GOD does not expect us as a nation to stand by and wait for evil doers to destroy us and take away the freedom that our people have fought so hard to keep. GOD has blessed this great United States of America because we have recognized HIM as what he is... GOD! When we give in to "anything goes" and forget GOD, we're DONE!!

I have a question...

The State Supreme Court ordered the Mass. Congress to write a new law. What if they just said "No."?

Are you implying that Mary Magdelene and Jesus were married? I'm not sure what that statement means. Can you explain it?

Was it Jesus or Moses that wrote that part of Leviticus?

G-d did.
