How could a little, uneducated, nut case bring down the leader of the free world? Just the way the Warren Commission and Posner said it happened.

Advances in forensic technology have proven that Oswald was the lone shooter in Dealy Plaza that day.

The case IS closed.

The case will never be closed. And no matter how advanced we are now, many of the questions brought about by that case cannot be answered in laboratories. Too much evidence has been "lost', destroyed, ignored, and corrupted. The Warren commission was a whitewash.

John Wikes Booth was a crackpot and he did kill Lincoln. JFK's assasination has "crackpot" written all over it. I agree that Oswald did it, however.........John Wilkes Booth WAS part of a conspiracy of crackpots who DID also severely would Secratary of State Seward and almost got to Vice President Andrew Johnson (that guy chickened out).

Makes ya' wonder............... ;-)

Only closed to the mindless morons who have blindly followed what the government has said and have done no research and study for themselves.

I have believed that Oswald was the lone gunman from the start. The assassintion of a President is so terrible and so threatening,so detrimental to the Nation that people don't want to believe someone like Oswald could have accomplished it, as he was so insignificant otherwise.

If true, this notion also pretty well kills the liberal, anti-Second Amendment argument that small arms in the hands of individuals aren't useful or effective against the government, its principles, or its agents. Of course, it also reveals why most politicians, even ostensible conservatives, only half-heartedly defend the right. When people fear the government there is tyranny, when government fears the people, the elite's worst impulses are held in check.

By today's standards JFK would have been a standard bearer of republican virtue (maybe not on all issues), and certainly the left resort to violent action more commonly than the right, reports of "right wing militias" not withstanding. I've always wondered where the radicals at Wounded Knee got their AK-47s.

OK, so Kennedy's assassination was not a conspiracy, but now President McKinley's assassination -- there's a conspiracy for you! Just who was Leon Czolgosz working for? Did he have mob/CIA/KGB connections? Were there two shooters or one? How could someone just walk up to the President of the United States and shoot him? Where was the security? No one could fire two shots in the amount of time Czolgosz had. Why did McKinley linger? Did the doctors snuff him out even though he was healthy? < /sarcasm >

In "Case Open", Harold Weisberg neatly picks apart Gerald Posner's thesis of Lee Harvey Oswald's guilt in the assassination of J.F.K. In doing so, he also exposes many of Posner's somewhat underhanded misappropriation of others' research; factual distortions; and outright dishonesties (whether intentional or not can be left up to the reader to decide). Though poorly edited, this book singlehandedly debunks the "Lone Gunman Theory" and tells us much about the mainstream media's continuing desire to force the "official" version of the truth on the people, despite mountains of evidence to the contrary. Though Weisberg's writing style is difficult at times, it is easy to see that he is far more intimately familiar with the facts of the case than Posner. I wouldn't recommend this book for those not familiar with the more complex and minute details surrounding the assassination (Summers' "Conspiracy" or Lane's "Rush To Judgement" would better serve as introductories to the whole affair), but as a total refutation to Posner's much-hailed work, it scores, taking down the Warren Report one more time in the process.

Personally, I disagree with Posner's silly "Case Closed" theory. So does the last surviving member of the target limousine, Nellie Connally, by the way.

The case IS closed.

This can't be true. I must have seen least 10 different conspiracy theories on TV this past weekend.

Well, if the case is so closed, perhaps you would now have the time to respond to my post to you.

It is a much more interesting question.
