One of the funniest holiday episodes I have ever seen of any sitcom. Unfortunately it does come in a pale, pale second to the sitcom that had these two lines
L:I really don't know how to describe it. It was like the turkeys mounted a counterattack! It was almost as if they were ...organized!!
C: As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

High seas? Where did he go? Why? When is he coming back? Inquiring minds want to know!

LOL, I love it. It reminds me during my second year of marriage I was always in trouble for forgetting birthday's, anniversary's, any number of holidays, you name it, I forgot it. Soooo...I concocted this brilliant plan to have Mrs. PeteFromMontana make up this card that could be given for every holiday of the year, a simple card really, just a calender with all of the Holidays listed and a simple note inside saying Happy Year or some kind of foolishness like that. The only problem was, I kind of told her she was making it for someone else, HEY I PANICKED, after all how else was I going to get her to make the dang thing. Then I threw her a big party and in the center of the room was THE card, properly signed by me. I of course denied that she made it and took complete credit for the whole thing. MrsPeteFromMontana still has issues over this and many other things that have been done to her over the years.

Without a doubt. Some of the episodes aren't really that funny, but that one has to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen on television

I remember laughing so hard my stomach hurt, and 1976? was quite awhile ago. Someday I'll get a dish or cable and enter the modern world of classic reruns 24/7 so I can catch that episode again. (;

I forgot to mention how humorous I thought Les Nessman was with the tape marking his "personal space." I worked at a small market ABC affiliate in the early '80's and there was a farm reporter and some anchor-types that reminded me of him. Les was cubically-deprived in those days as were some of my cohorts. Happy Thanksgiving FReepers!

Oh my! billbears, I give you my thanks. The script brings it all back, sound FX and all. I have to share this with my family this Thursday. The youngsters will give me that "what?" look, but we in the know will be belly-laughing!
Best to you and yours!
