What are y'all doing right now? I guess I'll get up since everyone else around this place is smart and slept in. LOL I can't sleep in. My brain wakes up early. Guess I'll get off here and go finish getting ready. I had to make a second pecan pie this morning because the other one had an accident last night.

Love and hugs!

Oh, Dansangel, will you be passing through Jax on your way this holiday season? I empathize with your longing to "go home". I feel the same way about Texas. Sniff.

My brain wakes up early.

Mine, too, usually. But, .45MAN actually had to get me up at 7 to post - I'm *shocked* I tell ya! :-)

Actually, we come straight down I-75. I prefer I-95, but it's out of the way by an hour or so, and every hour counts when our total trip is 10 hours.

I pray you'll be able to return to TX one day. Like you, I know what being homesick feels like!

.45MAN is starting his "killer" dressing - it sure smells good here! We're just having a turkey breast, but he's doing it up "Texas-Style" - LOL!

One year when I lived in California I made a a lemon pudding cake in a Bundt pan and forgot to flour the pan.The result was what I called Earthquake cake when I turned over the pan to remove the cake.

One more song, then I've got to get.

"What a friend we have in Jesus" reminds me of this older Philipino woman I sometimes sit with at church. This song makes her cry and bless her heart, she sits there and tries to sing through her tears with her big heavy accent. I'm always going to remember her passion for the rest of my life when I hear this song.

Here are the Lyrics:

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

Words by Joseph Medlicott Scriven, 1855
Music by Charles Crozat Converse, 1868

Scriven wrote this hymn to comfort his mother, who was across the sea from him in Ireland. It was originally published anonymously, and Scriven did not receive full credit for almost 30 years.

Converse originally named the score after the town of Erie, Pennsylvania. In World War I, the tune was paired with the words to "When This Bloody War is Over."
