Without hinting of the enormous surprise to come, Iraq's U.S. civil administrator Paul Bremer told the soldiers he was supposed to read the president's Thanksgiving proclamation to them but would instead defer to the most senior person on the premises.
At that point, Bush emerged wearing a military jacket and loud cheering began. "I was just looking for a warm meal somewhere," Bush said. "Thanks for inviting me to dinner ... I can't think of a finer group of folks to have Thanksgiving dinner with than you all."

O'Brian: What is the impression of the press in Crawford?
CNN reporter in Crawford: He left in darkness, flew back to Andrews, and we are told that it is so tightly held that some of the Secret Service didn't know! The number of officials in the White House who knew could be counted on one hand"
CNN crawl: Media, two nations "shocked and awed by this trip"

BUSH LIED !!!!!!!! I was just about to post the same thing.
This is the best Thanksgiving ever. I am so proud and impressed by our CinC. He risked his life to be with the troops today, and managed to sock Hillary in her fat face at the same time.
