"Just as it proved incapable of fending off the recall effort, the Democratic Party is proving itself incapable of mounting any opposition to the policies of the Schwarzenegger administration. "
ROTFL!!
Isn't it just delicious to watch them having a hissy fit?

Socialist are calling Arnold "right wing" now. LOL
It's hilarious to watch them squirm.
Highly amusing article, if you enjoy watching the agonies of socialists. :)

... eliminate art-based therapy for the developmentally disabled... Somehow this one reeks even more of boondoggle than any of the rest.
Can anyone explain just exactly what "art-based therapy" is?

They admit the state is broke, but oppose any tax or spending cuts of any kind.
They are enraged that Schwarzenegger is cutting social programs (art therapy for the poor - a critical human right!), but are just as enraged that he's not doing it immediately.
Is there any chance that they see the irony in their own positions?

The Worker's World Socialist and the Libertarian Party: country cousins.

In addition to laying out an initial $3.8 billion worth of cuts in social services, Schwarzenegger is calling for the implementation of a budgetary spending cap and a massive borrowing scheme that will ultimately lead to the gutting of public services of all kinds.I wonder whether any of this could possibly have anything to do with the fact that the State of California has absolutely no money available to pay for these "public services of all kinds..."

What a turn around. I love it.

Dear Socialists,
The (spending) party is over, and it's time to pay the bill. Atlas has shrugged, you've almost driven business (i.e. employers) out of the state.
It's time to make some hard decisions... Just like I have to do every month... Do I pay my bills, or go out and buy that new DVD player. Do I pay extra principal on my car or mortgage, or do I buy that new Sony 8MP digital camera? Do I pay down my credit card debt, or do I increase it... Now that Arnold is governor, a grownup will be forced to make some grownup decisions.
Hey, I know... Maybe the socialists who are complaining the loudest about the cuts in spending will decide to get up off of their collectivist asses, and go do something for the people who they claim will be "victimized" by the cuts. Start collecting money and charitible contributions for the needy... Yeah, right... That will happen. Socialists are the most selfish and greedy people there are... By using the government to collect money and redistribute it, they don't feel any need to actually contribute themselves. And they generally don't. It seems that they're only generous with other people's money.

ROFL..."cuts". Again, more like not increasing spending at larger levels than the socialist want.
I'll still bet you $1,000 that the level of spending on those programs after the "cut" will still be 10-15% higher than just 3-5 years ago.
Politicians can't even use the English language correctly. That's why we need less lawyers in elected office and more regular Joe's who have the common sense to say, "uh, that's really a stupid idea".

Schwarzenegger is combining these attacks on the living standards and democratic rights of Californias working people with threats to bypass the legislative process and go directly to the voters for approval of his initiatives should the state legislature fail to fall into line. This only makes sense once you understsand that, to communists, "democracy" means communism. It has nothing to do with individuals exercising their own free will and having a voice in policy decisions, or deciding who governs.
Ballot initiatives scare the hell out of them. They're "undemocratic" because people will vote for their own interests. And we're not supposed to HAVE any self-interest. We're supposed to consider ourselves in the abstract, as they do, and accept that we don't matter as individuals.
Hell of a system they dreamed up, isn't it?

All tax-levying, regulation-creating governments are parasites. A smart parasite works to enhance the health of the host. A dumb parasite kills the host. Leftists taxed and spent the moneymakers out of their state. That makes Leftists dumb parasites.

Schwarzenegger is combining these attacks on the living standards and democratic rights of Californias working people with threats to bypass the legislative process and go directly to the voters for approval of his initiatives should the state legislature fail to fall into line. In this way the new governor is signaling his intention to rule in a quasi-Bonapartist manner, posing as an authoritative figure who is above politics, while in reality pushing an agenda set by the corporate elite. Translation. He is taking the first steps to cutting off the massive flow of individual and corporate tax money to undocumented immigrants, and at the same time, making it more difficult for the Democrat legislators to buy votes in their home districts using these funds.

This massive increase in state debt...well that now makes the left agreeing with the right. First the right thought the bond was a bad idea. Now the left feels the bond is a bad ideal.... ergo, the bond is a bad idea.
I personally hope it's sponsors choke on it.
