Yes and you know...what happened to the New York Times? It used to be such a great paper. Now it's completely worthless. To say that they've slipped is a tremendous understatement. Even the writing is second rate. As slaves to the "AP Style," they coudn't write their way out of a paper bag.

I dont take the NYT but i read it at times on line and that is usually because a fellow freeper wants us to check out an article. the paper stinks. i stopped taking the local paper here where i live too.but then again i knew how bad it was,i used to work there! HA what a joke most paper's have become.

I said the same thing myself the other day. Someone posted a Thomas Freidman column wherein he bemoaned that the Bush administration is "nonhealing". What it is supposed to be healing he didn't say. And why he didn't say "unhealing" I don't know.

Another publication that has always been politically horrid but used to be well written is TIME magazine. Now it is practically unreadable.

I have a liberal friend who used to work in mag. publishing. She agrees with these assessments and says the problem is all the people working for these outfits are callow 25 year olds, who, of course, think they know it all.

But where are the editors? Probably too busy doing diversity head counts.
